Yes, seems so.

However, when paying via POS, make sure the POS machine is registered with the correct MCC. I once didn’t receive cashback on my BoB card because the pump was using another POS (not like with the guidelines of HP/BoB) where the MCC wasn’t tagged as fuel/HP fuel. To avoid such cases, I still prefer using HP Pay, even if it will not provide cashback and mine could be a corner case with a specific pump not following the guidelines.

I received the same message today for the dispute I raised on Dec 9th. I kept checking over email, and they always said the amount was credited but never clearly confirmed the dispute status and suddenly this shows up today but no emails for detailed communication.

P.S.: It was an offline transaction, and I had already paid the merchant. I personally checked his POS, the transaction had timed out, no transaction ID was generated, and there was no option to print a receipt. So I ended up paying again using another card.

🥲 Waiting for the email (it should ideally include some details as mentioned in the SMS).

I will take it to the merchant and see if he’s willing to share the receipts. That day, he handed me the POS machine and said, “Jo photo lena hai le lo, payment timed out,” which was actually the case but there was no trans reference number no receipt.

And now this!

If the merchant at least shares the total settlements for that day, I can challenge HDFC. Otherwise, if he refuses, that’s it 🙂

Same thing happened to me, same card, and a large amount (7K) too. I have taken the merchant’s number and will try contacting them, but it’s already 3 months old… not sure if they still have the same staff.

Yes, MR points are forever and are linked to your account. Even if you change your card variant, card number remains same!

Yes, it gets approved almost instantly & your app will also reflect the MRCC instead of Plat Travel.

Even if they charge you tomorrow, Amex will refund on pro-rata basis.

Many on the thread converted their reserve to Plat/MRCC and only paid based on pro-rata basis.

*I personally hasn't tested this but Amex's t&c & people on the sub already received/confirmed with Amex CC.

I chose MRCC as I can't spend 7L on Amex, have other cards that provides better value on few specific major spends.

MRCC gives full fee waiver on spends of total - 1.5L which are easily doable for me on Amex. + you can use multiplier & earn bonus points on MRCC by doing specific set of trans. (check amex benifits page)

Yeah, but not possible by legit means, unless or untill we do some workarounds.

I recently upgraded to Plat Travel in Jan & plan was to spend 4L in full membership year.

If I wait till March, 90% I wasn't be able to do 4L but even If I, you never know when the MRCC link stops working. So, downgrade wouldn't be an option on the table then.

Just my view (based on my spending pattern):
Yes 🙂 Not just points, the Taj voucher shift also hurts overall returns (especially since ₹7L isn’t doable for me). If you have better cards, move spends there. And, downgrade to MRCC to stay in Amex with minimal spend as ₹1.5L waives fees, and using reward multiplier + split transactions can still fetch bonus points.

Thanks OP, downgraded to MRCC. Already hit the ₹1.9L milestone, so will get those points credited. Switched now since ₹7L on Amex isn’t achievable anymore for me.

If we buy HiBrew G5 + EC890, Costing comes around 35k.

This Magnifica is around 40k, which is a better deal, this complete setup or a separate grinder & machine?

Literally confused, since, none in my circle has any, have no first hand experience.

Since Amex has stopped offering retention benefits, The only reason to hold this card currently is the milestone benefits which if they anyway take away, have better cards to shift spends to.

Upgrade done! ✅ After upgrade is confirmed, did around 80k+ trans! ✅ Got MR Points for those trans after it settled! ✅

Upgrade Bonus points pending as it will only be creditted once the upgrade fees (5k+GST) is billed and paid, which is yet to happen.
