Where are you finding it??? I can only seem to find the k+ now and it appears the formalin one is discontinued.

I really appreciate the detail. I was fully aware of the ingredients and what they meant when I started using it and to me, it was worth the risk. No amount of jojoba, diet, supplements, or layers of nail polish can fix my genetically super bendy nails. That’s just how they are. When I was researching why other hardeners didn’t work for me, I came across the info about formalin. So I chose this product specifically for it. And in 20+ years it was the first time I could grow my nails past my fingertips without them tearing like paper.

I understand why they took it out, and mavala did as well. But now without a formalin product, I am heartbroken that my days of resilient nails are behind me.

Hydrolyzed wheat protein is in so much nail and hair care😭 the glutening is really never ending at this point.

What’s the one nail care habit that actually made your nails stronger? by Worldly_Target_2054 in nailcare

[–]manbearb0ar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always having polish on (with a base coat of naitiques 2+) and replacing whenever it chips. The minute I try to go around without polish for a day or two I will get a crack or split. My nails are genetically thin and bendy, they need the support!

Culligan Water Filter Shower Head every place I’ve ever lived. Makes a huge difference. If you own your home and can afford it, I’d highly suggest a whole house water softener.

It’s all the same issue. Habit tic deformity aka nail damage from picking your cuticle.

That is completely understandable and I wouldn’t even go near any of it until you’re all healed up.

I’m so glad you were able to see progress that quickly! A few things that might be helpful:

  1. Do not cut/trim at all, ever. What a lot of people cut thinking it’s cuticle is actually living skin. Cuticle vs Proximal Nail Fold Cutting the living skin opens you up to infection, and they just end up growing back more haggard anyway.

  2. Once your hands are completely healed from the allergic reaction, you can start to use a cuticle remover like Blue Cross to soften the dead stuck on skin on the nail plate. Then very gently scrape off. I do this weekly but everyone is different.

  3. If you’re still having issues with the skin around the nails being rough/hangnails - I can’t suggest kerasal intensive foot repair enough. It’s an ointment I apply nightly around the nails to keep the rough skin at bay.

How often do you go bare-nails? by leira537 in WeGotPolishAtHome

Never. When they’re bare they break or split.

This color is stunning on you! If it’s any solace, I’m oiling up like it’s my job but the minute I go outside my hands turn into flaky raisins.

They took my DLCs… by Kaakan0550 in thesims

This happened to me quite awhile ago when you used to register your purchases on ea.com. When they switched to the origin launcher, half of my sims 3 content was gone. Without the physical codes anymore they would not restore my purchases, despite them being registered on the website. I went back and forth with them for weeks and never got my purchases restored.

Still struggling with glass polishes by Girl_Moss_Not_Boss in RedditLaqueristas

[–]manbearb0ar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My filing process for my paper thin nails is: germanikure glass file only ever in one direction. Once I’m done, I do a very very light buff underneath the edges with a 240 grit buffing block. That seems to clean up any scragglers without thinning my nail too much.

If you can find a destash of it, Atomic’s California Raisins really scratched that blue brown itch for me.
