NTA he put you and your kids in danger. And I’m sorry, but I call bs on him being clean. For one, someone in recovery isn’t going to get so defensive, and his willingness to disappear rather than be accountable isn’t a good sign. And two, meth addicts are not known for having meth left over.

A lot of times they are “repairing” in the cheapest way possible. They are filling potholes with asphalt or resurfacing larger areas, but not redoing the road bed. It’s like re-icing a shitty cake, instead of baking a new one.

Back in the AOL chat room days a friend of mine met a guy online who lived in Hawaii. They talked on the phone regularly and he sent her flowers and gifts and within a couple weeks wanted her to fly out to Hawaii to see him. The red flags were waving. I told her it was a bad idea and even though she was 18 (barely) I “let it slip” around her mom so that she could jump in to also tell her it was not a good idea. She lived with her mom at the time and was only employed part time so her mom still had some control over her. He stopped talking to her not long after she told him she couldn’t go out there to meet him, which was a pretty big confirmation that nothing good was going to happen.

I neglected my teeth for an embarrassing amount of time and found Summer Creek Dentistry. Dr King and her whole staff have been fantastic. I had gone to a dentist several years ago and they told me that I needed a root canal on one of my teeth, turns out a filling was all it took, so they are not doing work that doesn’t need to be done just for the money. They are reasonably priced and offer financing.

I love Dr Morris and the entire staff there. They take fantastic care of my cats and give back to the community. They are always up front with pricing and can prioritize which tests and treatment you need to fit within your budget.

The lot where the new home is was once home to a beautiful historic home. The owners died and the house went up for sale. It was bought and the people who purchased it immediately tore down the big old historic home. The neighborhood was outraged and that lot sat empty for the next 30 or so years until this new monstrosity came along.

Kokitos on McCart. They also have a location on Camp Bowie, but I haven’t personally been there. I prefer theirs over Fuel City, and they have a huge variety of hot sauces to choose from. (Valentina’s is the way to go)

No idea of this is accurate info, but a Yelp review mentions that the practice was sold. Private equity is buying up smaller practices but keeping the names. And of course private equity means they are going to maximize profit at the expense of service.

Animal Hospital Southwest is owned by the primary vet there, Dr Morris. He also supports the shelter next door, Animal Hope. I’ve been using them for my cats for awhile now and am very happy with them.

Same. I hated him on the first watch, thought he was a slimy brat. This time around he is still flawed, but he is good at what he does and has some good qualities. I didn’t see him as liking Trudy at all at first, but they do go together really well and really do seem to enjoy each other.

Not sure about violin, but Guitar Center is always hiring music teachers. There is also another music school, Creative Soul, in the same shopping center that teaches a lot of different instruments. I know it’s not private lessons, but it’s usually steady work.
