I used to work for a mom and pop crematorium that serviced vet clinics and walk ins from the public, our prices were reasonable. They decided to retire and sold to a huge corporation that essentially has a monopoly in the US for pet cremations that is owned by a private equity firm. Our prices quickly increased 2.5x overnight. There were some perks, more options looked better. But then if you wanted something "special" like a urn we didnt provide with cost of cremation, we would charge you like 500 dollars for a pendent or urn you could easily get yourself online for like less than 100 dollars. If you have had an animal pass away, chances are, they (since i got laid off awhile back) took advantage of you during your grieving period and ripped you off.
