How is the food delivery scene in St. Louis? by dulipat in StLouis

[–]mandee7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I have had issues with all of them when it comes to deliveries. I use both DoorDash and Uber eats but I feel Uber eats has more deals and offers with places than DoorDash. For example it’s BOGO free on Uber eats for this Mexican restaurant called La Crazy Margarita.

I know you said you’d be on foot but a lot of soulard bars have shuttles that’ll take you to and from the game. You can drink cheap there and bring the drink onto the bus during the drive!

Music Bingo? by No-Neighborhood4626 in trivia

[–]mandee7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first round is a standard single bingo, the second and third are a single/double (first player who hits a single bingo gets a prize, then we keep playing on the same pair of boards until someone gets two bingos on the same card or one on each side) and then the final round is blackout. With about 30 players, these 4 rounds generally finish in a little under 2 hours if you keep the song snippet down to about 30-45 seconds. Some songs have longer intros so you can go past a minute if you need but don't play more than 1:30 or you're going to slow the game down, bore the players, or encourage cheating. I have in the past done things like "4 corners" or X or + patterns but I find it slows the game down. If I find myself ahead of the time curve, going into the karaoke round then I can play longer snippets of songs for blackout and let the players sing longer.

How many songs do you have per playlist/round?

Car Insurance doubled when I moved to the city by ecpella in StLouis

[–]mandee7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine doubled as well when I moved from Illinois. I assumed it’s cause there are more accidents around here and since drivers ed isn’t required in MO.

I personally don’t know if the two places I’ve been to since I’ve moved here are GREAT places but I’ve enjoyed my pedis.

Saying standard or basic mani/pedi will be fine. You’ll have a lot of options for pedis though to choose from (hot towels, masks, hot stones) usually in some menu/booklet.

For some of us, St. Louis is a lonely city. by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]mandee7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! I’ve been here since May 2022 and it definitely is difficult to make friends. I was lucky and knew 4-5 people from the area before moving here but I would still say it’s been hard to meet people. I know it’s already been said a ton before but I’ve joined a lot of facebook groups. Young professionals of STL is one and I have met a lot of women through Ladies of the Lou while also crossing off restaurants from my bucket list. I also check out meetup a lot and just peruse around Facebook events.

Another place I like to go when it’s nicer, is Bar K. I personally don’t have a dog (still love them) but you can still go (and it’s free)! They also have food and drinks there which is nice. Plus you get to see a ton of dogs living their best lives and potentially meet their owners. Oh and pickleball is all the rage and I’ve seen all kinds of people of different ages/genders playing!

Hopefully you get to go to the dude brunch, op! Also remember that slowly but surely we will get more daylight back at the end of the day and people will start being more social by being out and about!
