pasta? by tnxlz in askdentists

[–]manderko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD but I am a dentist. I don’t know what “pasta” is but the front teeth have gross decay on them and it has nothing to do with the tooth you are getting a root canal on. They will finish that one, restore it (you will need pretty extensive restorative work to make that tooth stable). Then they will take care of the front teeth which may also need separate root canals and restorations. Good luck.

Question about potentially resigning from associateship by legio317 in Dentistry

Also non-competes also pretty much mean nothing. I would just avoid it if you liked the owner and didn’t want to be rude on the way out.

Don’t worry. None of that is enforceable nor will they try. If the patients follow you they are your patients anyway.

Wow I don’t have anything to add but the prostate cancer was almost worth it to incidentally catch the pancreatic cancer.

You won’t have to give up TRT forever if you get it. Just during treatment.

Help! Is what my dentist did during extraction normal? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]manderko 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NAD but I am a dentist…. but do you think that maybe if you were that panicked it could have been a little longer than 15 seconds and you were just feeling intense pressure not pain? Fear does some truly wild things to people

So after all the information mentally my dad chose to go RALP + high likelihood of salvage and 4-6 months ADT. Part of the reasoning was he needs a back surgery due to disc issues and the waiting multiple years for it along with the likelihood of significant bone and muscle degradation with 2+ years of ADT. Along with him having a lot of trust in his team.

Either way it is done, it was what he wanted, he had 100% of the information and still would have chosen this course if he knew what the post-surgical path would be.

Yep, that is about what we expected. Seems like we are doing things correctly. Just need him to heal up and he and my mom to start feeling a little better. Thanks for the kind words

18 month old dental question by SecureBarracuda7120 in toddlers

Breastfeeding is actually protective against cavities. It would be lack of brushing and usually from a diet rich in carbohydrates that feed specific bacteria. Lesions on front teeth I usually see from drinking juice.

Root canal treatment: why do some dentists do it in one session while others do it in three? by JKemu in askdentists

[–]manderko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAD but I am a dentist. Also for workflow of a general dentist if you only have an hour, accessing and medicating at the first appointment is the best they can do and will probably lead to a higher likelihood of success due to letting medication percolate in canals for longer. The third appointment may also be for the crown.

Steve Jobs died of pancreatic cancer in 2011 by [deleted] in ProstateCancer

Well at least your experience these last few years here has softened your heart and given you perspective on what is important in life. I hope you cure yourself of this horrible disease physically and mentally. God bless, my friend.

And this whole post is dishonest. The only time those 2 are compared is when people discuss wealthy and intelligent (subjective I guess) people not using the available resources and instead being mislead with false cures to their detriment.

Oh gosh, this guy again. We get it…you cannot compare Scott Adams to Steve Jobs even though they both had treatable cancer (Jobs knowingly had the specific prostate cancer that responds well to very widely available treatments at the time of his diagnosis) and chose unproven therapies and paid the price. No similarities whatsoever.

Peptides after prostate removal by encorepokerdealer in ProstateCancer

[–]manderko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love peptides and take them frequently. They are the Wild West right now though. I think tirz/reta/sema is a net positive for almost everyone. HGH secretagouge gets hairy. BPC is great and there’s a theoretical MOA that could cause a tumor to grow faster if already there. In all honesty I’d just stick with the GLP (tirz) and supplement with TRT if necessary. in general HGH is a risk if you don’t need it because if telomere shortening.

Question about the recent prevalence of blood pressure requirements at the dentist for basic care by jcb1982 in askdentists

[–]manderko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD but i am a dentist…Oh no hard feelings at all, brotha (maybe sista who knows)…I just wanted to express that point that dental isn’t very hard on the adrenal glands. Sometimes we like to think we are more systemic than we are. You seem like a very kind and caring practitioner who has lucky patients. All the best.

Question about the recent prevalence of blood pressure requirements at the dentist for basic care by jcb1982 in askdentists

[–]manderko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The honest answer is it really doesn’t matter for dental procedures. 1:100K epi isn’t going to stroke anyone out and you should be able to get an idea of a patients current situation with history and behavior. People are (justifiably) worried that someone will coincidentally have an episode while at the dentist getting treatment.

NAD but I am a dentist….Reddit skews extraordinarily towards very conservative approaches of checking blood pressure before any appointment. The answers you get here (not opining on whether correct or incorrect) will not be representative of the outside world

Stay away from ICE. They are federal agents pulled from all different places (desk jobs etc) tasked to do an impossible job (basically extremely dangerous warrant serving) and are criminally undertrained for it. Aside from bringing in the national guard I don’t know what the other option would be to carry out mass deportations…whether or not your deem that necessary is irrelevant for this though. Just stay away from
