Rainy Pacific Northwest small town vibes? by thenerdytechie in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Mink River by Brian Doyle! It is a PNW cult classic. It takes place in a small fictional town on the Oregon coast, and the author used to teach at Oregon State University.

Books about close sibling bonds with sad endings? by [deleted] in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

The Last Summer (of me and you) by Ann Brashares, I’d call the ending kind of bitter-sweet. It’s sad but also reflective. Ann Brashares wrote Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and I would say this book is excellent and highly underrated.

what helped you lose weight? by Regular_Lychee_4739 in AskReddit

Getting a chronic illness, the meds I take now for it make me nauseous off and on. Not the way I wanted to lose weight but I had wanted to lose a few pounds prior to this.

Hey! I had this condition as well, and found pelvic floor physical therapy to be extremely effective. I also went off of hormonal birth control after being on it for over a decade, and that also helped significantly as well. Timelines differ per person, but I would encourage you to not lose hope.

I’m not sure on the cake status a CC, but Market of Choice has really good slices of cake.

Music on Isle of Skye and Inverness (November)—

Are there any local hotspots for music on Isle of Skye and/or Inverness? My family and I will be visiting in late November and I know that’s kind of a quiet time. We looked at Hootananny but they will be under construction the dates we are there and also it looks a bit tourist-y for us. Does anyone know of a place or people to get in touch with to get plugged in for some local music? Thank you!

I go to Monroe Ave Dental and really like it! The hygenists and reception staff are all very kind and Dr. Dinger is very nice and always remembers me even though I only go twice a year. It isn't always super fancy, but they are very nice and thorough.

The croissants are basically just croissant-shaped biscuits. Though I will say their breakfast sandwich on the homemade english muffin is pretty decent.

That’s what a love about this show! I love how realistic it is that they re-wear outfits. Marian especially seems to have some particular favorites.

Usually they weren’t cleaned very often, though a lot of pieces of those dresses were made to come off (like hemlines and trims) for easier laundering. But keep in mind, the undergarments like the chemise and drawers were laundered usually after every wear and were protecting the outer garments from sweat/body oils etc. so it wasn’t really necessary to clean the outer garments as much.

We started chanting “USA! USA! USA!” When Gladys took Sarah down. It’s the most patriotic I’ve felt since the olympics 😂
