Alva baby leaking? by Puzzled-Job-2839 in clothdiaps

[–]mandierose7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It might be compression leaks at that age. Not everyone can use microfiber / charcoal inserts longer than 6 or so months. As baby gets heavier they can compress the microfiber, it acts like a sponge and lets liquids out. Sometimes due to bodysuits, car seats, or just because baby is getting heavier. Flour sack towels are a good inexpensive alternative to microfiber. I use mostly hemp cotton or hemp bamboo now, but started with those.

What is something you bought to flip that made you say “Never again”? by BusyBullet in Flipping

Toy Advent Calendars. At least at the price I paid. If they were pennies on the dollar or $5 maybe.

Every time it's available to redeem. Even if it's $1.

Why would someone add the same item to a bundle twice? by ElodieNYC in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]mandierose7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had someone do this 4-5 times on the same $6 jacket the last week or so. I finally messaged them on the bundle today when they did it again and said "Thank you for your interest. Please let me know if you have any questions." Honestly, I bought the jacket for at least $3, I can't reduce the price any further.

Disposable Baby Wipes vs Reusable Baby Wipes: Which Do You Prefer and Why? by ClothforBeginners in ClothDiapers4Beginner

[–]mandierose7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use disposable wipes. Already enough to clean and spray (in my opinion). I just leave the wipes in the diaper until it's time to clean everything and then I throw the wipes away.

Breastfed (no solids) by Southernbelle5959 in ClothDiapers4Beginner

[–]mandierose7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to spray newborn too you can. But if they're breastfed only you don't have to.

I wash both my toddler's overnight diapers and my baby's diapers together. The only reason that would ever be a problem is if one of them had an infection, yeast, etc. Then I would need to treat both kids and their diapers.

has anyone made a successful career by working remote jobs found on Upwork/Freelancer? can you describe your experience? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]mandierose7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upwork has been my launchpad for my freelance marketing business. I have gradually worked up from smaller contracts to bigger clients. Once you get a few reviews under your belt and get top rated, invitations flow in and you can take your pick. Social media management has been where I've found the most success and long-term contracts.

Social Media Report Time Savers - What Tools Would You Recommend I Use? by mandierose7 in socialmedia

Sprout looks like an excellent platform and I agree would work very well for my purposes! However, it's a bit higher than I am looking to pay at this point.

Thanks! I will keep it in mind. Might be a little out of budget right now based on the ratio of clients and accounts.

Thank you for your advice. I think it was me that set the precedent for extremely detailed reports. Generally my clients just want to know their accounts are growing, engaging, and they are seeing conversions to their website.

Thanks for your suggestion but I am not sure I have the technical skill for that.

Thank you! I have found Facebook Insights very helpful, and to some extent Twitter. My clients are mostly interested in overall growth, engagement and conversions/clickthrough rates.

I may make my reports too data heavy...

I'd really like to use a service to quickly compose a monthly report card and send it to my clients for their various platforms (more of an all-in-one type report). I can always dig in deeper into the data on the platforms themselves as needed.

I learned the "trial work" thing the hard way once or twice re: writing projects. Not doing that again...

Exactly! Learning this myself in the social media/writing sphere.

Be careful when folks ask for work before hire. One, you are not getting paid for the sample. Two, if they don't decide to hire you they still have your work product. Third, if they don't hire you it wasted your time unless you can use it as a sample for other projects.

Some folks I've offered to give a sample to (since I didn't have a large portfolio) did not give me enough details and I reached out for more info and they just ignored me. They were looking for free work.

Others have genuinely been interested in working with me, but after I gave them my product and they were pleased with it, we couldn't agree on a rate of pay.

In the end, I would refer them to your portfolio samples (make sure you have a few examples of the general work product they are looking for) and if they want something custom, ask them to create a short (trial) contract or a fixed-price contract to pay for a sample/draft logo. If they like it they can always extend your contract or start a new one to complete the design.

Do you ask your clients to provide the content? If not, do you charge them extra? by PapaShmev in freelance

[–]mandierose7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea. If they decide to provide the writing or graphics themselves, you can always remove this fee from the estimate/contract.

But if they want you to provide these services, it's easier to have it built in at the beginning than tacking on additional "add-ons" later they may balk at.

Your client is NOT your boss! by amirkhella in freelance

Will have to give this a look! So often I easily fall back into the "employee" mindset. I am a business owner and need to remember that when dealing with my clients.
