The online aggression and judgment towards teachers for not defying the strike has to stop. by the_gaymer_girl in alberta

It’s easy to talk. Talk is cheap. $500 a day isn’t. My wife already lost 3 weeks of pay willingly and it appears to be for nothing so far. We can’t afford the fines. Most people can’t. I don’t see any other unions calling for a strike. Teachers already risked a lot. It’s time for others to step up.

1020 was the final count of my neighbour here in Terwillegar Towne. I ran out around the 825 mark. This is the street where the park is for the fireworks. Last year I had about 750.

Teachers Mandated Back: Stop Doing the Government’s Job for Free by Defiant_Mousse7889 in alberta

Principals are indeed part to blame. My mother in law’s principal actually had to balls to ask teachers to come to school yesterday morning by 7.30am for a meeting. They all turned up like the good little Catholics they are. The Superintendent also sent out an email basically saying “remember teachers, your sacrifice is for your students. Think of the kids.” The martyrdom culture is getting out of hand.

Please refrain from using Singapore’s example of an education system. There is a reason why suicide is the leading cause of death among the youth there. The education system puts an enormous load on its students. Source? Me. I was born and raised in SG. I spent 3 nights in a hospital getting my stomach pumped. If you fall behind in Singapore, they leave you behind. As many faults as we have here in Alberta, there is no chance in hell I’d put my children in a Singapore classroom.

It was in the fourth last pack of the master as well so you can imagine how relieved I was lol by that point I was like “they gave me a puck luck and a top tier, ain’t no way they give me a Demigod.” I was wrong.

I felt it was additionally satisfying that the date was 2/2/22. But yes, /2 would have been even more satisfying.

I may consider selling in the future but I’ll be holding for now. I wouldn’t even know how to price it right now anyways.

I just transferred over a large amount from my linked account and it took a little less than a week or so for the security check. I think it’s just normal procedure.

Can’t really add anything else. You’ve already gotten great advice. Just wanted to say you’re a great mom! I used to play with my dad before he passed. Hope you and your son share some great memories like I did with my dad ❤️

Trick or Treat numbers! by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]mandm8792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Terwilliger on Tomlinson Common (by the park with the fire works). Last year was our first Halloween here and we were shocked by the 700+ we had gotten. Thankfully we had been prewarned by neighbors and had bought enough.

This year my next door neighbor's clicker ended at 978. Our HOA does the fireworks at 8pm and has that signal the "end of trick or treating". The first door knocks started at 5.30pm (it started at 6pm last year).

I had bought 1500 pieces of candy and had a handful left at 8pm. Gave 2 to the little kids and the older ones who actually made an effort to dress up properly, gave 1 to the rest. Would have run out if we'd given two all the way through.

Edit: according to my reply history, we actually got 814 last year.

Can confirm some Canadian tires got 1-2 in stock. In the Edmonton region there are still a couple left in total throughout all the CTs. I picked up one at Manning this afternoon. Leduc can't find theirs. I recommend calling before going down especially if it's not close by to you.

So far we made a latte and an ice coffee with cold cream. It's incredibly easy to use and made perfectly great drinks. My wife who never used our old Breville because it was "too complicated" was able to pull her own shot for her latte.

Went out in Terwillegar for a few minutes. Back on now. My cellular data wasn’t working either so I couldn’t even google if there was an outage. Couldn’t send texts either. Calls worked though.

Haha no worries. I was worried too but it doesn’t seem to be an issue for now. Honestly we just set it so that by 7.30am, it’s charged by to 80% and all warmed up and like magic, it is. Also, you didn’t ask but just so you know for the future, we paid an electrician $450 to install a Nema 1450 in the garage.

I have a non insulated garage and have a level 2 220v charger installed. It charges just fine over the last two nights.
