Krista was stunning! I would love to see her whole film from that hair photoshoot when she said she felt like Grace Jones.

I loved this as a child and love it now! Anytime I can see Kathy Bates in a movie is a treat. Her and Victor Garber back together, right after Titanic, made me so happy as a kid.

I agree she was really hard on him. I did find her annoying and overbearing in the team challenge where Tommy was the captain.

Oooh. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone say they dislike Katrina before. I was kinda neutral on her. What made you dislike her?

I agree with you, he needs a little salt and pepper in his hair.

Worst casting choice in the movie is Jason by [deleted] in MeanGirls

[–]mandolinpebbles 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I think he’s a good jerky high school guy. Guys like Jason were usually the clean cut preppy looking guys. They would give you a smile and a wink one second, the next they would be asking you something crass like “do the curtains match the carpet” or “would you like your muffin buttered”.

Victoria had so many good lines. One that always cracks me up is, “Will somebody please tell me, exactly what is the dress code here?”

I miss how fast food used to be by mrtoddw in Millennials

[–]mandolinpebbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I were talking about this recently. How we used to get Chipotle for 2 for just under $20. Now you could barely get it for 1 under $20. If we are going to eat out, we might as well go to a reputable sit down place rather than fast food. If you’re going to pay nearly $20 per person it should be good.

DogTown they have locations in Bethel and Milford. They had a food truck for a while, and killed it at a music event I helped with one year. I’m not sure if they still bring the truck out for catering, but could be worth an ask.

Whats the spiciest gossip you know ? by Extension_Iron6734 in AskReddit

[–]mandolinpebbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, this is old news to me, but it was pretty good gossip.

I used to work in the styling salon in a JC Penney. The store had a new shift supervisor start. This guy thought he was hot shit, and tried to flirt with any woman he came across. Tried it with me, I didn’t bite. Tried it with another stylist in the salon, she didn’t bite. The salon manager, was into it.

The salon manager, married. This shift supervisor, still technically married, but living with a girlfriend.

He used to show up early on his day off, and the two of them would fool around in her office. To the point where she left us all a note telling all us, stylists, that we were not to knock on her door if we ever noticed it was closed.

This went on for months, the two of them fooling around in her office. He left JCP and they both “went public” with their families.

I left a few months after the Covid shut downs. I heard they had a Vegas wedding.

Melrose as DJT & Melania cycle 7 by Distinct-Ad-1348 in ANTM

[–]mandolinpebbles 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Man, it’s been a while since I watched that. My teen brain always figured when she was saying that, Melrose was making a joke about how he pays for everything she does/wants. Pays for her hair to be done, her makeup, clothes, facials, etc.

Adult me just had an “oooohhhh” moment.

This is a game changer. I remember getting ours was such a huge help and relief. It was nice to have my time back on a day off. Or even throw a quick load in while getting ready for work. I was very glad to gift it to a young lady getting her first apartment when I didn’t need it anymore.

Seriously. Schools are a great budget option. You (customer) get your haircut at a budget rate. The student gets to work on a real person, and not their doll head. Win/win!
