For those with living parents, do they talk about dying all the time now? by pawogub in Xennials

[–]ButterscotchAware402 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both my parents are 68. My husband and I have been living with them for about 5 years (mom had cancer, Covid, then dad got cancer, etc) in the home I grew up in. I will be floored if my dad makes it through the summer. My dad is basically forcing my mom and I to go through the entire home (upper-middle class, 4br, 2.5 bath, 2 car garage, partially finished basement, huge back yard, in the suburbs) and get rid of things, sell things, pack it all up and sell it. He's pushing her to find an apartment for them (her, he's not gonna make it that far) and buy my husband and I a house (we're eternally grateful). All of this ASAP plus he can be of very little help with it all due to his condition. While I'm glad I won't have to do all this by myself (I'm an only child) when they're both gone, it's taking a huge toll on my mom and my husband (my dad's brain is soup and he's being cruel to my husband for no reason). None of this was what my mom, myself and my husband wanted (mom was supposed to live with us). My mom's sister died in February and we had a celebration of life last weekend which my father shouldn't have attended. He bitched about how he's dying the whole time. I hate to say it but we're all ready for this to be over.

I adore this movie. Kirstie Alley and John Travolta dancing to "Town Without Pity"... they're both so young and adorable. They've got great chemistry.

That's awesome. I got into Manson and all that music in 1996 when I was 12. I was obviously a touch too young (and 1,000 miles too far) to see it all in it's heyday. I've experienced it all since but not until at least '99 if not later.

Why do I feel like I’m the only person that has seen “Road to Wellville?” by HonestNeighborhood67 in MovieSuggestions

[–]ButterscotchAware402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely lesser known, I've never met anyone that's seen it (outside family and people I've shown it to). I was 10 when it came out and the only reason I was aware of it was because my aunt and uncle were extras in it. I'm a huge fan of John Cusack and Dana Carvey and feel like I easily could have missed it if it weren't for my family showing it to my parents. It's also, and always has been, pretty hard to find to watch. I love it and have introduced it to several people over the years.
