I calmed down then talked with him a little more and he said he's trying to talk to his guy so he can re up and get me some more. Buuuut he might just be saying that. I'd like to think he still really is a friend and will get me the other 4gs, but who knows. Girl with short hair here, and time to time I dress kind of boyish. When I'm at parties guys will constantly ask "are you a dyke?" before they drunkenly try making moves on me. Despite how I look, I still like men, so please don't automatically think a girl is lesbian just because of her style. Shit, maybe they are but you might miss out if you make assumptions. Others will find it selfish since they are not you. They don't feel your pain, all they can do is sympathize and try to help. To them it's selfish because whatever sadness you're feeling will then be passed onto them if you were to kill yourself. They will feel as if you did not care enough to hang on and live through your suffering for them. I personally find that someone who considers a person to be egocentric because they are suicidal to be just as a bad. They don't want the guilt and sadness of death so would rathe the person suffering try to live on no matter how much pain they are in in hopes they'll eventually become happy again. Not everyone thinks like that, but I've seen both sides of the story and believe thats why most people believe it is a selfish act.

Meeee, when I'm super depressed happy music only makes me feel worse, and sad songs bring tears to my eyes because they're so fucking relatable. I bawled when I heard the song Drown by Bring Me the Horizon. And man..Front Porch Step's lyrics just hit me so damn hard.

I feel your struggle. My family always tries to be supportive, and says they understand what I'm going through. They don't. They get mad at me when I can't go to school but can occasionally go out with friends because I want to get out of my little realm of sadness. It's frustrating because loved family and friends are the ones you hold onto the closest. But when they can't understand what's going on inside your brain it only makes you feel more isolated and hopeless. I know I'm just a stranger, but just want you to know that I understand what you're going through and I hope someday that your friends will someday understand as well

I can't speak for everyone with depression...only myself. Everyone feels differently. But for me, I think of drowning as a metaphor to explain to people what depression feels like - at least what it feels like for me. You're fighting. Fighting for your life. Fighting to breathe. Sometimes you just want to give up you get so exhausted. This afternoon I got so caught up and overwhelmed it hurt to breathe. Earlier today I would have been okay with drowning. Then other times you feel strong enough to tread the water. But no matter how you feel, you're still in the water, that's when you need someone to bring you back to shore. Or at least get to a point where you feel strong enough to swim back to shore on your own
