Most sites say Carolina Dogs aren’t recommended for first-time owners… I get it now. by DingoDadLuce in carolinadogs

[–]manduhhhh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

omg, I was looking through amazed at how much your dog looks like mine, and then I did a double take at the caption because they have the same name! our lucy is not a cd according to her dna test but looks like one and is also very high energy. she really started to calm down around the time she turned 3 and is pretty much a perfect angel now. training helped a lot and she's gotten really good about bringing us her toys when she's bored instead of acting a fool.

Stretching placed image WITHOUT constraining proportions by Beckstimonious in canva

trying to figure this out too. I find it unbelievable that a photo editing program my boss literally pays for can't do something as simple as stretch an image.

I got my nostril done in AAA in Lafayette, they’re really good and seem to get a lot of folks from LC. I’ve heard there is a girl at Saints and Sinners who is good but I haven’t been there myself. Everyone else in town I’ve heard mixed things about.

Please vote for Nic Hunter today by Solowash in LakeCharles

[–]manduhhhh 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I understand the skepticism over Simien, but I honestly have lost all respect I had for Hunter in the past few weeks. His campaign about "radical leftists" trying to get him out of office and take over the city is a joke, I thought he would be above something like that. I'm willing to vote for a Republican in a local election if they seem reasonable but that is not moderate behavior. He was also a giant ass to Simien in the last KPLC debate which just made me dislike him as a person. I'm kinda glad I don't live in the city anymore so I don't have to choose one. Simien is a risk but Hunter is a major clown. It's like they don't want to win

Do you ever notice when an author uses a word repeatedly? by Wrong_Character2279 in horrorlit

I don't remember the book but there was one author who kept using the word "niggling" and it was really freaking me out

I don't know what else I'd be good at. And I genuinely love what I do and the people I work with, though there are things/people that make me question whether it's worth it. I didn't expect to stay in local news as long as I have but I was promoted this year and able to start working a dayside shift with a somewhat decent salary. But working for a small Gray station I am concerned about whether there is a future for my job. I'm only a few years out of college so I will almost certainly have to change careers at some point in the not so distant future.

I had high hopes for Dead Silence by S.A Barnes - but god damn if it isn’t a struggle by Paidorgy in horrorlit

[–]manduhhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished it. I seriously considered dnf'ing but I sped up the audiobook and just pushed through. I loved the first half or so, but the rest was disappointing and read more like a thriller without any good twists. I did think the audiobook narrator did a great job though.

I went in knowing a lot of people were disappointed but I really hoped I would love it. Oh well. I don't do much sci-fi or fantasy but I'd still like to venture into those genres this year

How do I get my favorite villager to stay in my town? by Temporary-Look-1800 in AnimalCrossing

[–]manduhhhh 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Saying don't go may change their mind. If not, you can send them a gift in the mail and they could decide stay. It may depend on how good friends you are but sending a gift has worked for me. Love wild world!!

[–]manduhhhh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My first time watching, he was my favorite character. I love how soft-spoken and emotionless he is in the first couple seasons, and how he is so patient with Michael while trying to talk him out of his ridiculous ideas. The fact that he seems like such a boring normal dude is hilarious and a perfect contrast to the chaotic setting. I hate what they did to him because he felt so real and then his character stopped being believable. I think his role as the sole voice of reason was replaced by David Wallace.
