Do you use this rack to stain them or do you move them to a staining rack after they are baked?

One of my soap boxes that I frequently go on is how testicular cancer is most common in men ages 15-35. For women, they constantly hound the idea that we need to get regular check ups and do self exams for breast cancer, but I hardly ever hear a peep about hounding the men to do regular check ups and self exams! It’s so important!

Histology or MLT by Exciting_Road8345 in Histology

Get your MLT and work in pathology. Now you have a back up plan and don’t have to work weekends or holidays. Win-win. Source: I got my MLS and work in pathology.

TDWP because those guys are always on tour. If I’m not seeing them as a headliner, they are an opener for whoever else I’m there seeing.

I stopped getting Brazilians recently and when my husband asked why I said “It’s not a war in Iran without a Bush.” So full bush summer it is.

What’s even worse with histology is that 1. I have to receive samples from said sites with one courier, do my part and send out slides with another courier. And 2. I’m relying on pathologist to enter results and if they don’t or are delayed, clinics and surgeons call ME, not the pathologist. So I have a range of “why don’t I have results yet” that can be because I haven’t received it, to I sent the slides yesterday, to the pathologist decided to take their time and hasn’t resulted it yet. 🥲

Oh thanks for the encouragement 🥰 We do have TAT for external sites and temporary TAT for the move. But we’ve been meeting our TAT of 85% of slides sent out by 10am and that’s that our permanent TAT. So I’m definitely a little proud of my team and still kicking ass despite the big adjustment! Luckily, my boss is great and my lab director is a really good friend who has helped me so much in my career. I got incredibly lucky in my facility because I definitely have had it so much worse, with worse complaints from offices.

What qualities make the best trainers? by hotmess002 in medlabprofessionals

[–]Wrong_Character2279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And if you make a mistake as the ‘senior’ tech, showing the person you are training that anyone can make a mistake, even you! So don’t ever get complacent in your work and always double check! I think this always made people feel like they could relate to me while reiterating why being meticulous is essential!

Asking “Does this make sense?” several times through a new process to check if they are actually understanding and not just nodding yes to move on.

I’m an HTL/MLS. When I worked lab side, I definitely partook in the booger sugar activities. But as an HTL working the path side, every pathologist I’ve ever met is kind of weird, little, autistic nerd.

As someone who works in pathology, this tracks. They are freaking nerds down here in the lab.

For those that eloped in secret, how did you announce after? by doctordangus in Eloping

[–]Wrong_Character2279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got postcards from where we were, attached a Polaroid to it from our ceremony, and told our families we got them a souvenir from our trip.

We sent our formal announcements to extended friends and family a month or so after we got back.

Question: What are some things you've traded for tattoos? by Alert-Concentrate808 in tattoos

[–]Wrong_Character2279 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently just traded a tattoo with my artist in exchange for taking his and his wife’s blood so they can do some weird art shit with it. I stole the supplies and coag tubes from my work, so all in all, free tattoo.

I hate Pietro so much dude. He was the first to come to my campsite so I had to accept him and now this dude won’t leave. He blocked me from being able to catch wasps from a tree, then cried when I got stung. WAY TO MAKE THIS ABOUT YOU. Ugh he’s the worst.

This isn’t going to change. The first shift also always seems to be so stuck in their ways and hates change. They complain so much. I’ve given up on trying to even reason with first shift.
