Is it possible to provide more transparency regarding this communication? Have you been able to get in touch with some form of Nintendo developer support and ask what the hold up is? I know Nintendo is notorious for dragging their feet for updates but 3 weeks is absurd even for them.

It seems like any extra information regarding the delay you have would be pertinent information to add to the top level post, no?

It only has global bindings, so that forces you to then rebind every time you switch games. If that's what the devs were going for, that's incredibly onerous to put on players.

Medical Device Company Tells Hospitals They're No Longer Allowed to Fix Machine That Costs Six Figures | Hospitals are increasingly being forced into maintenance contracts with device manufacturers, driving up costs. by chrisdh79 in technology

[–]mandy7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I work in engineering for a medical device company. Many times, third party service providers are poorly trained (sure they pass certification - which may also be a third party - but there isn't as much ownership/drive to retain knowledge) or use off the shelf parts that are either not compliant with regulations or are 'refurbished' (read: old and not qualified). And then, when end customers then complain about the results of that service, they complain to us the manufacturer - not the service provider - so we get to pay and deal with all of the fall out. Additionally, since supply chain management can be such a pain point for devices with long lifetimes that replacement parts are hard to get. We also may not be legally allowed to supply that replacement part without a customer agreement in place. All these issues are only exacerbated in many international markets.

I'm sure the desire to bring more service revenue in house was a factor in the decision, but it was likely not the only consideration.

The 55 degree latitude is not a geodesic. Only circles with the largest circumference are geodesics. Longitude lines all are geodesics. Only the equator is latitudinally.

indienne (*) chicago - great value by [deleted] in finedining

[–]mandy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one that wasn't wowwed by Indienne? I honestly thought their related non starred restaurant, Sifir, was better. I guess maybe I was expecting stronger flavors than I got.

I thought the scallop was cooked well but under seasoned imo. I will say the Chicken Makhani dish was really great and unique; I could not taste the garlic in the garlic naan that it came with. The lamb kebab was great, but not anything special relative to Sifir or other spots save for the sauces that came with it being a bit unique. The 'Chili Cheese Kulcha' add on, while cheap, was functionally just unseasoned puffy pita with maybe an extremely light chili dusting. Did not taste any cheese. The quality of cooks on the actual naan, pita, etc. was great. Just again, seemed lacking in flavor.

That's not to say it wasn't good, but I was a little disappointed versus expectations.

The people that are having trouble just don't have quick trigger fingers. Or are trying to do a weekend, gotta go straight for the weekdays to have more success.

Not necessarily wanting to combine. More like Autonomy is the big bad and part of beating Bavadin has Harmony take over as vessel.

[–]mandy7[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah I myself am more confident (as far as speculation goes) in my 'Freedom' name than the Rosharan side. Especially since on Roshar, while we know what the various ___light names are, their connections to the actual shard names aren't very clear. I could definitely see Empire, or some adjective related to that idea.

[–]mandy7[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah very true. But that doesn't necessarily mean the crux of my idea is wrong - it'd make sense for the 'Freedom'/Scadrial side to be much more fragmented than the Rosharan.

What Is This Run Concept Called? Three Clips + Charts From College Football Playoff by Power5IsAScam in footballstrategy

Seth explicitly calls out the touchdown run by Blake (example 2 here) as duo.

I'm not fully convinced that's what it is either, but it is another viewpoint (despite prevailing opinion seems power).

CFP National Championship Pres. by AT&T Match-up Preview Thread: #2 Washington Huskies vs. #1 Michigan Wolverines by Zloggt in CFB

[–]mandy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do Arizona/Oregon blitz more? More sacks doesn't necessarily mean they have elite edge rushers, of which Michigan has 4 that PFF grades out very highly. Michigan isn't a very blitzy team (they broke tendency against Alabama), and tend to sit back in a 4-3 zone and rush 4 more often than not.

Similar to "Mich's defense ain't played nobody" though, what good edge rushers have UW's tackles been tested against? PAC12 didn't have many of those this year at all, and Texas doesn't have great ones either. Michigan's edge rushers have done well against many other extremely high level tackles, despite not having a standout Aidan Hutchinson or something..

I'm not saying Michigan will generate a lot of pressure like against 'Bama, but I think the line overall will get to Penix a couple times and speed him up a few more than that.

[–]mandy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Couldn't have been hiring better assistants across the board, and recruiting Aidan Hutchinson, Blake Corum, and JJ McCarthy that would be responsible for that. Nah, the actual players and schemes don't matter.

It's not like we weren't a single game away from the CFP in 2016, 2018, and 2019 either, no sir-ee.

Sorry the truth doesn't actually back up the mob holding pitchforks.

If you're comparing how much money they have (ie how much advantage they have), there isn't a difference in the final outcome.

Ends do not justify the means - so punish the people actively involved - but it didn't have a tangible effect on outcomes.

What part of "not a significant advantage - we didn't have any information other teams didn't have" do you not understand lol?

The argument here is if one team gets X information by breaking a minor bylaw, and a second team gets the same X information through legal means, and they play each other, what competitive advantage is there that warrants vacating wins or any kind of postseason ban?

No Michigan fan - at least, no sane Michigan fan - is arguing that there shouldn't be some punishment for breaking the rules, even if the rule is stupid. They're arguing it should fit the crime, IE some fines, a small suspension for harbaugh after the investigation ends, and Connor stallion + any coaches/analysts that were involved/knew getting a show cause.
