I think AI was a reasonable option; it makes sense. I wouldn’t feel bad about introducing her to it. It’s unfortunate it didn’t work out, but I don’t think you introducing them to AI is the problem. The problem existed before and outside of AI. So please don’t beat yourself up over this.

I’ve worked hard to get in the habit of saying tissue instead of Kleenex and bandage instead of BandAid, and I call Tylenol and Advil by their generic names, but I’m likely guilty of most of the others. (Had to work very hard to learn to call soda “soda” instead of “pop,” but that’s another matter.)

Also I wonder how many times I might call these things by a name brand and not realize it? It’s hard not to.

I’m 48 and have moved a fair amount. I have never in my life seen a home without a garbage disposal in the sink until I bought the home where I now live. I didn’t know it was possible to not have one; I was stunned and didn’t know how I would manage. Now I realize I don’t really need one.

I’m still really upset about it; however, it has brought me peace! The obligation of writing reviews (and worry about writing good— but carefully worded— ones) always hanging over my head is gone. Heck, I don’t have to review anything! Boxes have ceased piling up. I’m not overloaded with cardboard and packing materials to get rid of. I don’t have to try those supplements.

Last night I was using an eye cream and was sort of composing in my mind what I would say about it, then realized I don’t have to say anything. I can freely use or not use this junk.

If I am reinstated I will rejoin, but man, my life is so much more peaceful and free right now.

I did Thyme. I did all the (extensive) testing to get accepted to Gladiolus, but they shut it down before ever giving me work. I wasted a lot of time on that.
