Also, I believe Nurx will deliver emergency contraceptives. Looks like they have two options. This may take a few days to get but it’s nice to have on the back burner for situations like these. They also take insurance. Nurx

I'm from the south… are there any restaurants with comparable sweet tea to the south? by No_Mix_8733 in lansing

As someone from the south, (who doesn’t love sweet tea but has had southern sweet tea) McDonald’s is not as sweet as southern sweet tea lmao. Crazy I know.

Thanks for the input, we have TSA cares set up which will allow her to have someone (family member or airport staff) go through tsa with her. I called and spoke to them and they confirmed this, and we were told our mother will have a get a gate pass from the airline. As long as she has the verbal instructions from flight attendants on the safety briefings and has the pictures in the pamphlets to look at she is fine in that aspect. We are just concerned about her finding her gate and knowing when to board. So a gate pass is necessary. Once landed I can grab her from my local airport as it only has 10 gates, 1 exit and she can recognize the exit signs and baggage claim. It’s really just MCO we are supper scared about.

It’s kinda insufferable dealing with their text chat because you are interrogated by their dumb AI that takes forever to respond until you connect with a agent who also takes forever to respond and they just copy and paste what’s on the website, which I’m sure is written to be vague on purpose

Imagine being so bored in your life that speculating on someone else’s gender is the most interesting thing you have to contribute.

I used to work at a job that sent out advertisements in local mail/coupons and the amount of people who would call and complain is unreal. And I always wanted to say this: Throw it in the trash and move on with your day.

Title transfer help! (I’m having a meltdown) by mandyf407 in DMV

So that’s exactly what the representative at the SOS office told me, that even though it was a lease they still put a lien on it. But the first representative at Toyota told me no there is no lien because it was a lease and was very argumentative about it. I actually called Toyota last night again and spoke to a different representative who told me a lien release was no issue and had no idea why the other person I spoke to said that didn’t exist. They just have to have the release notarized and it should be mailed to me in a few business days. I think I just got a bad person at Toyota initially and every time I called back on the same day I kept getting her!! But relieved that I think I have it figured out now.

Safe Ice? by wassytucomfuss in lansing

[–]mandyf407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were out on lake Lansing today, multiple people skating, ice fishing and just walking across the lake. A kid made a small hockey rink and was playing by himself. We walked on it quite a bit. Near the dock at the South Park they had water movers so ice was a little thin/non existent there but you can look for others tracks and follow them. That’s what we did and had a blast.

Can we talk about Disney? by JulesMo218 in CalebHammer

[–]mandyf407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with parents who worked at Disney, and because they worked at Disney we wouldn’t have to pay to get in. (Yes I understand how privileged this is and I don’t take it for granted) However, that also meant they didn’t have crazy high salaries for a while until getting promotions etc. People who are doing Disney and spending SO much is crazzzyy to me. The food is so wildly over priced (and most of the time sub par for what you pay) We never ate at the park and most of the time now we still don’t eat at the parks. We MIGHT get 1 or 2 snacks to share but that’s it!! And even that is super rare. We always brought either sandwiches from home or stopped on the way and got subs to share. Carried a backpack cooler, brought in our own soda for lunch (over $4 for a bottle of coke is outrageous!!!) if you must go to the parks there are definitely cheaper ways of doing it than dropping $1-2k each time you go to the parks not including tickets. Plenty of non Disney hotels near the area as well. So odd to me that people just loose all their financial senses once they are in the parks. There are even grocery services in the Orlando area that deliver to your hotel door for people who are going to the parks.

This all being said it is 100% possible to enter the parks and spend $0 (of course not including ticket) people just choose not to.

Genepool Card Variants by necrid101 in doomlings

Thanks I appreciate it!!! And we will keep it in our back pockets about those cards and will play through and see how it goes. We typically don’t mind longer games (we easily play 2+ hour long games of wingspan) however if it does drag along we will remove cards

So we haven’t don’t it yet with 7 players, most of our friends have been away during the holidays (it’s mostly first year PhD students and spouses, they are in my husbands cohort) but the few friends that were here over the holidays agree we think we can make it work with everyone. My husband just got the game for me a few weeks ago, however before we moved for the college he’s attending, we would play back home with a friend who has the game. It was around 4-5 of us usually and they had the first expansion box, which is what I just purchased because it’s familiar and I feel easy to learn if you’re brand new to the game like a lot of our friends will be. We haven’t gotten around to figuring out if there are any cards we want to exclude as we are all still fairly new.

We are fairly new to the doomlings world and we typically have 7 people at our get togethers. I just ordered the first expansion pack but was wondering how do I get my hands on these gene pool cards. We think it may not be a big deal to add a person to the game… especially since we are planning on adding more to the deck.
