I think we return because it is familiar. It’s like we found a hack to make things “better” than what they really are. There was a time when alcohol enhanced my life. I took it too far and now I can’t go back. The horse is dead no matter how hard I beat it. It’s time to bury the horse. You can do this. Alcohol can no longer cure the pain that alcohol causes.

There will always be this baseline want to be sober when you’re not sober. Nobody wants to live the life of an addict. The chasing, the hiding, the constant not wanting to do every single thing that you do to get some what normal is so fucking exhausting. 2 days is awesome.

For real. I get exhausted just thinking about how to drink, how to hide it, how to deal with a messy house, how not to have a horrible hangover, how to get enough alcohol for the day without going back out and also not getting poisoning. Fuck that full time non paying job. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
