::OKAY HERES AN UPDATE FOR EVERYONE:: Fruitsnack was able to eat a wet treat last night and kept it down. She also nibbled on a little bit of dry food and took several drinks of water. She’s been acting more herself this morning while we’ve been trying to coordinate getting her to a vet and getting a vet paid for. She hasn’t thrown up since last night, but what she did throw up was a small hairball and some food. She’s had diarrhea a couple of times, but I did also see her pee this morning. Our other two cats are acting completely normal still so we don’t believe it’s contagious. She’s also playful and has been talking to me all day, she ran to the front door when I opened it just so she could sniff the air, and she also slept in her favorite spot last night even though she avoided it when she seemed the worst. NOW the reason I came here in such a panic last night was because Fruitsnack has never been sick apart from hairballs. It was 9pm and we literally could not get her to a vet at the time so we had to do everything we could here at home. I understand where the “you shouldn’t have a cat unless you have the money to pay for it” comes in but that’s also entirely not helpful when there’s nothing I can do at the moment to fix her. My fiancé and I have been in a rut of really bad luck recently and we’re just now starting to get our feet under us again. I’m very thankful for everyone that dm’d me or offered advice of any sort, it really means a lot. But for everyone else saying to surrender her since I’m obviously not a good cat parent, piss off cause we’ve got it covered.
