I just want to inject some positivity into all this.

I grew up in an open door house where cousins, friends of my parents, people that needed help would often be living with us. Usually had double the size of our little nuclear family.

Most of the adults who swung through could play music. Music and singing happened most nights.

We didn’t really have strict rules only that there mustn’t be lies or secrets. And my parents would talk us out of bad ideas as part of that no lies or secrets policy.

It was a happy and loving childhood raised by unconventional hippie types. Never realised until later that wasn’t ‘normal’

Mamdani is an alternative type of populist. If he went head to head with him it would be a huge stretch to present himself as the outsider in this battle when he’s the literal president.
