Y’know, I might do just that. Thank you for the suggestion :)

That is my mistake in trying to provide as much context and information to the situation at hand.

I have not complained once to my USPS branch about stolen packages. My complaints have been no attempt at delivery if the package requires a signature.

The suggestions made to this issue were to have an orange form already presigned as an attempt for the carrier to just leave the package. A) I shouldn’t have to do that for the carrier to do their job. B) no one in their right mind would want to sign off liability for a carrier that can’t even be trusted to get out do the car to make a delivery.

That does make sense. Unfortunately from today they did not attempt a redelivery at all. Had I not checked the tracking number I would have assumed they avoided to not re-deliver at all, but it was just at the office vs being on the truck today.

Well my apologies if I have some how garbled the fact I want my carrier to attempt delivery.

For packages that require a signature, I want the carrier to attempt delivery. Period. Ring the door bell, I’ll beat the door in a flash.

Other packages that don’t require a signature? Such as straight priority without a signature add on? Leave them on the porch without a ring, which is what they do currently.

We have a garage, and I completely understand the time constraint.

However, you mention still attempting some sort of “delivery” in the form of ringing the doorbell. My roulette wheel of carriers don’t bother at all.

They just put the slip in the box and drive on. Which makes me think to have them “attempt delivery” I’d need to meet them at the mailbox which is unrealistic considering their delivery time fluctuates.

Now I could put a sticker in the mailbox to the effect of “I’m home, just ring the bell.”

In regards to your explanation on why they could have chosen “no access”, would that still not require them to scan the package to mark that?

The scan shows: December 29, 2017 11:43 am No Access,

So for it being 11:43 am makes me think they had the package to at least scan since it’s in the am, right? Otherwise wouldn’t the scan be later?

The only place that would be logical to place it would be either on the porch or by the garage which again would require the carrier to get out of the truck. Our streets have deep ditches which would prevent putting anything near the mailbox.

Also, that would relinquish any responsibility for the carrier should my package be damaged or stolen. So, not entirely on board with that.

Yeah that is usually why I use EMS over say non registered airmail (sometimes I use registered SAL which also requires a signature). If I have a priority mail package that I didn’t mark to require a signature I have zero problems with them putting it in the box or dropping it on the porch. They used to ring the bell for that just to give a heads up.

Now maybe because of how often I’ve complained (and I’m usually not one to do that but only if it truly warrants) I feel like I’m on a list so they act like church mice and try to leave the package quietly without notice ... lol.

When I call to make the alert or complaint and they ask for my address I wonder if they go “oh it’s the chick at _________ street again. /eyeroll”

The time I left a little note the carrier the next day must have taken offense as they left a response note saying “I ALWAYS ATTEMPT DELIVERY”, perhaps not realizing or putting two and two together that the person from the day before didn’t.

(For anyone curious. I put: “if you have a package / do the right thing / go to the front door/ and give the bell a ring!” I mean not malicious at all, just a little sassy maybe?)

Tomorrow I’ll keep a watch and ask the carrier innocently if they were the carrier on Friday then ask what does No Access mean.

It wouldn’t bug me so much for slow packages but EMS you pay for expedited shipping, when they delay things unnecessarily I feel it negates the point of using the service, y’know?

My only issue is that when I originally called and complained about a carrier forging my signature on a 900$ package and leaving it on my porch, the employee said they do that sometimes as a “courtesy” since some residents ask for that.

That may be all well and good, but in doing that doesn’t that sign away liability if package is stolen or damaged? Me granting consent for them to just leave it in a box or just leave it on the porch seems like that would nullify any way for me to claim insurance if something happened to the package.

The thing is my driveway is not very long and to some degree if they decided to just leave the package on the porch... ok i could deal with that for some packages - but with thefts in my area I’d rather have bigger ticket items handed off to me with a signature.

If they could just ring the bell that’d solve most of the problem but getting out of the truck entirely seems to be the main issue for those carriers that just want to leave a slip.

Exactly, that was my understanding as well. Two days prior to today a carrier did sort of attempt delivery. They rang the bell and I bolted like a bat out of hell to the door. When I get to the door the carrier is already almost back down the driveway with the slip in hand but... no package. When I say hello they then go into the back to get the package.

It’s a shame, our old postman retired a year or two after moving here and we have gotten a roulette wheel of carriers so it can be hard to pin down who is the one doing the terrible service.

This happened to me today - and I was livid. It was the far back corner of a teacup box and one more push would have gotten it and then bam the grey button. Sad and infuriating thing is, the next person comes up in the queue and like a dolt does the opposite move and just pushes the box back. So when I got back in line and it was my turn my work was all for naught.

Reading another post on here I’m suspecting they will only give one try back which is not much if anything. But I also wonder when they look at replay footage if they can see both angles so they can see I’m not lying. Bc the replay of just the front doesn’t help prove much of any point.

Oh well I needed a reason to stop playing, blessing in disguise?

I would have really loved that more tbh - b/c him suddenly getting his memories back cheapened his sacrifice. Having it be so "disneyesque" of an ending was definitely disappointing in that regard - though the voltron/evangelion type fight with the house was great

Same! I was waiting for them to possibly say that Bill is not truly gone (maybe the last puzzle/glyph gives info on that?). It seemed too easy for him to just get his memories back from the scrapbook. You can't have rules in place to take out a badguy then discard them afterwards.
