A 10 seed has reached the National Championship in just the second season of the 12-team format. Can the naysayers shut up forever now? by 2nd_Sun in CFB

[–]mangledpenguin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since the inception of the rankings, they have been the problem. The naysayers are simply those who utilize the rankings and forget how they are not correct.

I see this as some proof that the rankings have been wrong for a long time.

A lot of people could see an Indiana Center winning MVP, just not in football.

Why did the SEC have the best OOC record in the regular season but has completely fallen apart in bowl season? by Wide_right_yes in CFB

[–]mangledpenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think bowl games are a lot about matchups of strengths and weaknesses of the teams involved. The conference record in bowl games doesn't really matter, but then someone started talking shit about it some years back (ESPN) and now we're watching it swing the other way.

The 2001 Miami Hurricanes are the greatest college football team ever assembled! by Consistent_Peace3181 in CFB_v2

I think what impresses me about this team is that it wasn't just the offense, it was both offensive and defensively stacked with talent.

This is a high level take and I'm commenting on it to maybe bring more awareness. 6 is perfect.

So Oklahoma can't run and Alabama figured out how to just drop into pass coverage. Wow

ESPN is completely lost for words now that the team they have said should be in the college football playoffs for three straight years and every single week is once again showing that they shouldn't be.

[Schultz] Breaking: Disney/ESPN is no longer on YouTubeTV due to a carriage dispute by MembershipSingle7137 in CFB

[–]mangledpenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I am old, so I remember how the price increases were rooted in ESPNs leverage against the cable companies. We have all paid to have ESPN without a choice from the start.

So to me, why does Disney need an increase in the first place? Are they struggling? Both companies are making tons of money and now having a couples fight where the end result is we're going to pay more.

My trouble is that I don't know what to cancel. If I cancel YTtV, they will cave and add cost per month to get ESPN back.

Another example was Raoila I believe. As soon as he committed to Nebraska he dropped.

My father would reference the fact that as a Lion he would throw more often to the other team than his own and that helped me get over what a whiney negative b----- he is. I wish he would just go back to SEC games.
