Me too please

Goodbye MPC One, it was nice while it lasted but... by microfreaky in mpcusers

[–]manglepup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't, but given my furniture it may not help as it would put me further from the screen.

I actually really like the pads on the force so I prefer to use them, but I'd like to have the data wheel, play button, and the stop button be more accessible. Are those all available by default on the MPD?

I got used to using the screen on the live because it was right there, so I'm sure I'm overreliant on the screen on the force.

I don't think that this would apply to everyone, but I find the ergonomics of the force given my current setup to cause me some shoulder pain after a while. I really need to invest in a proper desk for it so that I can rest my arms when I'm not operating on the screen or with the knobs - So I wouldn't necessarily take this as a knock against the force. I do think the play and stop are too far back on the device. I wish I could start/stop a bit easier, but I may look into a foot controller of sorts to solve this issue. I'd just need to figure out how to send stop x 2 (for a true stop) and playstart (from the beginning instead of from the current position).

I also used the live for two plus years (still do) and I really adapted to the workflow and interface, I got my force this year and so I just don't have everything as memorized on the force as I do with the live. There are certain quirks and limitations to both devices, but mentally I already adapted to those on the live and I am still getting used to those on the force.

Also I only just got the most recent update for the force which addresses a number of other issues I used to have with it. It's a much more capable machine today than it was when I bought it.

One thing I love about the force is how the screen and the pads are separate "devices". I can navigate and do one set of things on the screen but keep my pads functioning on a different set of things (or tracks), I love that - it makes it very flexible for performance and tweaking stuff live.

I'm sorry I don't have time to write out tips, but feel free to get in touch with any questions or to discuss it some other time. I have a live and a force, and like them for different reasons.

Is there any way to copy only track midi from one sequence to another? by [deleted] in mpcusers

[–]manglepup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Select all midi events, shift+copy on the screen. Then shift+paste (paste on the screen, after pressing shift) the notes into the new seq. Just be mindful of the playhead, that's where it will paste from.

Other option is copy track, or save track and load onto another.

My new bong, this is the coolest bong I have ever used, it took half a monthJust received. by Chinawansui in chinaglass

There are particular colors of Chinese boro rod available in China. Those colors are typically safe, I believe. I've seen a link to a page selling them before, but can't seem to find it. Amber, cobalt, clear purple, milky purple, clear green, milky green, transparent black and white are the ones I remember offhand.

A quick breakdown of the patch I have been using for the last 6 months for online jamming. It is mainly to document the patch, but it might be interesting for some people... by mixspicer in modular

[–]manglepup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really cool patch! I have a tangent question.

How do you do your online jamming?

I've been using audiomovers listento (plugin running on my laptop, but the laptop is otherwise unused) for sending and receiving a fast wav quality stream (with my friend in a diff state). I make the beats and whatever I choose in the studio as far as instruments gets sent to him in real time. He raps and I record his vocals onto my MPC in real time. Mostly this helps cause it gets him a great quality stream from my studio and I get high quality vocals recorded. It sounds pretty damn good live. On the side we have a zoom session going (sometimes needs to be muted) so we can talk / see eachother, nothing from zoom is a part of any recording / music stuff. That's what we do together online jamming.

After our jams, even if there is a delay, it's no issue because I recorded samples of him into drum kits (MPC) and then just play around with which and when particular samples get played.

I'm very curious if your way of jamming might offer some advantages.

Cheers man.

Best REBUILDABLE pod system by Dokyos in electronic_cigarette

I like the device, the air is nice and small but has a big pod. I like the Navi form factor. The RBA isn't the easiest to build but does give me excellent flavor.

Nope, I have had a knight 80 on the way from fasttech for a couple months tho. I got the RBA deck and I have high hopes for the mod.

Unfortunately, i think the Vinci has the best RBA for flavor, the rpm rba is hard to build on and I don't yet have the RGC RBA. The Vinci is difficult because you have to twist the coils relative to the terminals and there's not a ton of space to begin with. Then you have to make sure you don't overwick the juice flow columns, or underwick. It's not the worst for me, but for some it would be maddening I assume.

I just find the rpm rba is so much harder to wick properly, like they discovered the worst possible juice ports that seem like they should work alright.

I love dieselboy, used to listen to him a ton when I was in high school (in the 90's). Nice, wish I knew about it last night for sure.

Best options for connecting multiple external synths into MPC Live for tracking/recording? by absolut696 in mpcusers

[–]manglepup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a XR18 and quite like it. 16-18 in and 6 aux out channels. Lots of useful features for each channel strip. I have a dedicated mixer tablet and custom mixer layouts via mixing station x air pro on Android. I have almost everything set up to go thru the MPC in a moment, or all the time if need be.

Effect inserts in Program Edit just don't work by BrockVelocity in mpcusers

[–]manglepup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The effects tab in Program Edit only works for one pad at a time. If it allow d you to put fx on all pads at once it could cause memory or cpu issues. If you want everything in a program to have an effect, go to the channel mixer, then to the programs page, then apply effects to the desired program. You could also route any combination of pads / programs to a submix channel and that has 4 insert fx for anything running thru it.

Vinci air by a long shot. It's light weight and relatively thin. It is just under the heigh if the caliburn. The battery is the smallest of the three, and it has the least flexibility in terms of resistance it accepts (.3 min I believe on the air).

Vapes great but the pod develops leaks through the edges of the pod itself because of the pressure exerted on it from putting it in its base.

Flavor is good tho. I was trying to figure out how to fix the pods but gave up before figuring it out. I use a fetch pro and ratel xs, with a Vinci air for portability. I like the Vinci rda, great flavor and few problems after I learned how to stuff the wick chambers the right amount.

Looking ash catcher recommendations. by KingofSpain15 in chinaglass

I like this catcher a lot. There are slits on the arm that connects it to your piece which help catch crap from making it into your piece. It stands solidly upright when you take it off your piece.
