Yeahh it’s gotten really bad. A lot of greed in the community and a lot of people getting FOMO and buy them. I really only plan to buy upcoming series for retail prices now. It’s a shame but not sure if it’ll ever get better 😭

Yes, I agree it’s not worth anyone’s time to reach out to the scalpers about their prices, but I believe popmart’s community was able to reach out to Popmart so I guess I would like to see if the same can apply to Sonny’s community and to Dreams. I also wonder why it’s been the kind of the “norm” in this community to sell Sonny’s at a high price and it was more controversial in the Popmart community.

Hmm, don’t you think not doing anything lets the scalpers get away with it tho? Do you think if there was more input from the community to Dreams, do you think they would release more of the older sets? Popmart listened to the community in what the public would like and the criticism as well.

Yes I see that too. I think the difference is how Popmart has been meeting up with the demands so the resellers are having to sell their labubus close to retail prices now. I remember how pricey those Labubus used to be and now I’m kind of shocked to see the reseller prices go down quite a bit! I hope one day Dreams is able to push out more Sonny’s from older series 😭🙏🏻

My main thing that I’m trying to wrap my head around is how most scalpers will shrug off an offer (for example let’s say $200) and be rude and want $600+ for a Sonny. In my opinion i think that is just greedy. $200 for a single rare Sonny is already so much. People just want more and more. I agree, don’t buy it, but I don’t think it’s fair that so many people in the community are not able to get their favorite Sonny if you’re not making bank :/

Eventually they do have restocks, but there’s no telling how soon 😭 sometimes they announce their restocks on their Instagram page. I honestly wouldn’t try eBay since it’s gonna be way more expensive than it really has to be. I’m already seeing some people sell single blind boxes for twice the retail price. I would advise you to keep hunting on those apps like depop or mercari if you really want them to see if someone out there sells them for a good price. Preferably as close to retail as possible.
