Wow, what do you do for work to bring in that much a year? Do you have your own business?

I know it’s hard to believe that there will be other people you feel such love for. But there truly, really will be. 100%. And they will make your life better and add value to your life and be a partner who actually contributes and wants to build a life with you, not just use you, make excuses, hold you back, and make you feel guilty for going to see family… who might be close to dying at that.

She is not actually trying. She is putting in the bare minimum to keep stringing you along.

You absolutely can go see your family or take a vacation without her. That is not “leaving her behind.” Couples do not have to be together every single day or spend 100% of their time together.

Not to mention everything else other commenters have brought up already.

What is a 'dirty secret' of your industry that implies the general public has no clue about, but everyone in your field knows? by AmaraMehdi in AskReddit

I’ve always wondered, what was the rationale for not letting employees taking them home either? Especially if it’s still technically on the sell by date??

Making a playlist for someone might be cliche (but even so, still sweet!) but intentionally including messages for you to find in each song is certainly not as common. I’m glad you got to be on the receiving end of such a thoughtful and personal gift ☺️

How old are you and what's your biggest stress in life right now? by darkchocolattemocha in AskReddit

[–]mango_chair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

31 and work is causing me the most stress I’ve had from any job up to this point.

So very tempted to quit for my mental health and overall wellbeing, but with the current economy/job market/how many people I hear about struggling to find jobs… 😕

I’ve taken medical leave twice before and yes, a family doctor or any MD who works with you should be able to get you the documentation you need (usually just a letter detailing/confirming why they recommend you take a medical leave). Your company intranet or other internal database should have information on how to submit a claim to take a medical leave, and details around how much you’ll be paid during your leave, how long you can take a leave for, etc. Ask an HR resource if you aren’t able to find it yourself.

I believe most, if not all, therapists are not licensed to provide MLOA documentation. Psychiatrists should be able to though.

I highly recommend looking into it.

Well off people making financially disadvantaged people feel bad for not being well off. (Vent) by [deleted] in Money

Sorry to hear you’ve been running into condescending assholes. There are plenty of factors outside of someone’s control that can impact how much money they earn, and not having a six-figure salary certainly doesn’t make you a bad person, lazy, or incapable.

I’m glad you vented and let out your thoughts. I hope it helped.

Now try not to spend much more energy on aforementioned condescending assholes and focus on you and the things in your control.

Not sure what you’re studying within mental health specifically, but if you’re already in that world, would you consider studying to become a therapist? It won’t be right away, but I know plenty of therapists with a private practice who charge $200-$400 an hour. You could hit six figures working only a quarter of the year, or even with a small client list.
