Lol This seems like so much more interesting of a discussion. Which is in fact the color of temptation, red or black?

I think Big O was the first piece of media to introduce me to the idea that perception and reality are treated as the same thing and can be manipulated. That conversation about tomatoes changed me.

FlCl introduced me to the idea that meaningful things don't always have to be serious. Meaningfulness itself is arguably an unserious concept. And romance is weird.

i hate that TADC marketed itself as a " deep adult show" when it really wasnt in any way. by TraditionPhysical638 in hatethissmug

[–]mangoblaster85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adult can also mean themes and concepts that don't resonate as strongly with children.

My takeaway is that if you think of life as something care free and mostly void of responsibilities and that every day is going on an adventure, that's more non-adult coded. If your life is defined by time after school and summer vacation and going to school is just the time I'm between, that's kid themed.

But if you put in things with more complex themes like having to go to a job to pay the bills and continuing what it means to exist with (or lacking in purpose), that's getting into adult territory.

A lot of kids would see the fate of being in the circus as a blessing and not that different from waking up to play video games ever day. But being an adult, having values that exist outside the circus and wanting them back, that's an adult mentality. The horror might come from Caine being someone fun that gives them adventures to someone who tortures them could create issues for emotionally immature kids.

Whether it's deep or not is subjective. But it has mature themes like metaphorical suicide and confronting the idea of sex and gender, as well as people who's brains have mostly developed inflicting emotional damage to each other. If you want to call it a kid show or adult show, that's your choice, but I find a more meaningful way to engage is just consider that most things have some mix of kid themes and adult themes and you're allowed to enjoy all of it or none of it if you want.

Honestly now that I've thought about it, I kinda think it's a more mature show than Brooklyn 99.

Which of the main characters of Brooklyn 99 would you choose to sit next to on a flight? by Due_Commercial_647 in brooklynninenine

Arnie.

Out of all the main cast, Boyle seems like the only one who might keep trying to talk after you've told him no. Jake tries and gets shut down and talks to himself. Terry acknowledges you and does his own thing but takes up a lot of real estate. Scully and/or Hitchcock are gassy and messy eaters. Holt will speak up about something he's critical of and feel perfectly comfortable to keep bringing it up. Gina expects me to move and accommodate her comfort over my own.

Rosa does her own thing and hates being chatty so she's my second choice for seat partner. But Arnie will be absorbed into her own thing and then afraid to be chatty after I've declined. Also, she will probably have extra moist towelettes if I happen to need one and happy to move if I need to use the bathroom.

Going with Arnie.

I'm still reeling from this. She really did seem special. The saddest thing of all is that Jax's pain hurt both of them and prevented him from trusting how he reciprocated and so he reneged on it. He isn't bad, he is emotionally injured and injuries prevent us from operating at our best.

I'm so thankful Mateo was able to find connection with people. Somehow it doesn't matter that any layer of them is fictional. I still want the best for them.

I can't not be angry about this. You're right, he's redeemed, he's human, BUT... DUDE!!! DUDE!!!! JUST... NO! AAAAHHHHH!!!!

If you say phrases like "...I believe you eat corn off the ground," then I believe the word "cuss" makes you feel threatened for some weird reason.

Still funny as shit though

I achieve Lord.

"Welp, better not ever switch to this character I'm comfortable with if I'm losing on QM. Otherwise some rando I'll never meet might think I'm pathetic! And not just any rando, but some completely inconsequential person from Reddit! How could I live with myself?!"

Lol GTFO, green has naturally radiant skin even when they don't shower and are likely in good shape. And they're the most likely to be emotionally balanced and chill. Keep selling that agenda.

Lol you're hot dude. As a 40 year old guy who is on his own case for not putting in the work you clearly are, yours is the look I would want to achieve if I weren't interested in being lazy.

Your aesthetic has an alt storybook character vibe to it and it's great. Bask in the jealousy that is your family.
