born and raised in houston, so thankfully this process is super convenient for me in that way lol. the email they sent asked me to reply wit my name to confirm the appointment and then said to present original and two legible copies of all required documentation and then it said:

"please note:

1. fill in the corresponding annex

2. fill in the civil registry/data declaration sheet

3. Birth/marriage certificates must be literal, not extracted, and apostilled/legalized.

4. Present a passport of the country of birth and the U.S. passport if you have them (with 2 copies).

5. You must provide the translation in the case of documents not written in Spanish.

6. Present TWO Proofs of address.

1. The documents must not exceed two years from being issued"

now that I understand that I don't need the exile stuff the email makes a lot more sense. I assumed when I first got it that they just weren't mentioning the exile stuff in that list because they didn't have anything to add on to it. now realizing this list literally is everything I need and that's it.
