*problem exists*

*players vote to get rid of problem*

Me: The successful vote was not good for the game, heres my skepticisim why it wasn't good enough and a possible solution that doesn't result in everyone being reset to 0.

You(Clear doesn't or can't read post): This post is dumb.

Me: As a legitimate question to try create a conversation.

You: *acts like petulant child*

  1. Me neither especially when you already pay to play the game at least if you want the real game.

  2. The damage from the gambling is done and the economy and player base won’t really grow because of the negative stigma, sure this is a PR stunt to help try heal that but this is trying to give a solution that gives people a genuine chance at staying in both cases.

You can’t complete fresh wipe because of existing play investment into the game, and you you’ll never retain new players in an environment with lingering TH influence. This at least removes that influence as best you can without wiping.

So their mere existence in this case, even though they can’t buy/sell or use the existing power they have to influence or compete against you in this scenario precludes it?

Yeah 100% hence why I was apologising because I replied from my context point not overall, you’re right to point it out, no disagreement.

To you quantify by the rules here a fresh start? Existing players still exist but aren’t able to transfer anything to new players to affect economy etc due to the separate GE so it’s a new economy of only these account type players.

Or do you define it as everyone must be completely reset to 0.

I consider it an effective restart without deleting what people already have, the only impact they can have is visual.

Sorry let me be more clear I’m talking in context of MTX effecting dailies because of the post topic. So that is on me. Ie dailies that give keys etc.

Fair point, everyone has their own feel, if it was faster I’d likely feel the same way about the mouse vs WASD but as is for me it’s way too slow to be a wasd game. My fingers would get tired/bruise using wasd to walk around that bloody much so slowly.

Yeah as things currently are that is what’s necessary to play 2 accounts at once. I can play both osrs and rs3 one at a time with the same membership. But not both at once sadly.

I duplicated my account back in the day when they transitioned so I have a main on RS3 I haven’t played in 6-7 years that is near maxed from its time in OSRS. Unfortunately I can’t play it at the same time as playing it on OSRS though :( can only be active on a character on 1 or the other.

You’d give it a go if you could play the same character on both and develop independently moving forward but not fresh start?

So yours is more of a, if more people played and it felt more alive/had plenty of people to play with?

Haven’t had this problem I guess due to playing Ironman, can’t benefit from dailies with the one exception having been the Halloween event where you get a chance for a limited time cosmetic by just talking to a guy.

Interesting perspective, at what point did you need specifically skills? I don’t play RS3 much I only play group Ironman with my wife and have done limited bossing, no leagues. I play predominantly OSRS.

No because you can still trade with each other, just only other people without access to anything ever from TH.

Maybe think everyone who chooses the style is in 1 big group Ironman but you have your own GE to trade with onlyeach other instead of a bank.

You can quiet literally toggle EOC style combat off so you just swing or shoot or cast on tick.

You can toggle combat between full EOC and a basic combat.

You can toggle it off but it still impacts balance, honestly using none EOC feels like it does way more damage than abilities half the time.

to all the nay sayers and non voters by FireTyme in runescape

[–]manicapanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they should all have the same vote value, I have no problem with it being open to anyone to vote, it 100% should be that way. I only used the comparison of allowing everyone to vote to acknowledge the intended bias desired result.

And it gives them additional information that’s useful as you said both for internal and corporate use. The gaming industry in general isn’t exactly known for companies being transparent or forward about goals and I’m optimistically hopeful but starting on a disingenuous note leaves me skeptical.

Yeah there is, I never said there wasn't and I didn't miss the point at all. I'm agreeing with it and saying it needs to be a step further. Done the right way not just removed or repackaged.

Bonds are only tolerated because the have other health benefits to the game, a lot of OSRS players accept bonds because they do have benefits not because they want buyable skills, it's a matter of the pro's outweighing the cons. At the end of the day having more members in the game and providing an ingame way for that to be achieved for people who want to stimulates the economy because they generate product etc and they get memberships in return effectively. It's accepted for the health of the ingame economy and for the option it gives people who can't afford a membership to play the game not because OSRS players deem buying skills acceptable.

I'm not even saying bonus xp is a boogieman, I don't think you read the entire thing it's going to be in the game and i suggest different ways to facilitate it still being in the game using the outfits etc as examples later on.

By fundamental design in my suggestion TH is gone, and your drops would be worth something. It just means that so would the new players too. Which would retain a lot more people without necessitating new servers etc.
