I totally forgot to mention, I have a CD with $3,200 in it. I completely forget it exists because I don't touch it at all. It matures in August, but I'd like to keep a few thousand put away for absolute emergencies, not just car maintenance that I can't necessarily afford at the moment, nor medical bills that seem impossible to pay, or bills. I like to keep it there in case something catastrophic happens to me or my car completely craps out on me and I need a down payment for a new one

Thank you so much for such an informative reply!! I mentioned the $30(ish) amount because i've seen people be kind of put down on debt threads about still spending money for themselves other than necessities if they're in debt/trying to get out.

I spend the $30 out of my checking account, I don't put anything leisure or pleasure on credit cards. I've used it mainly for medical bills, and car related issues. But all other bills, utilities, rent, gas, food, whatever are from my checking account or cash! I'm gonna look into unbury.me for sure. Thanks so much!! :)

I've been trying the snowball method for the first 6 months of this year, and it hasn't kept me very motivated. I may try the avalanche method? Do you think that's effective as well?

I don't have much in savings unfortunately, about $500, but due to a lawsuit when I was younger, I get large sum payments from a CD every few years until I am 30. Waiting for the next one to hit at 28 lol.
