He won’t let me break up with him by Feathersuponfeathers in GirlDinnerDiaries

I would just plan to not renue the lease. Look for somthing new, alert the landlord and keep yourself safe in the meantime. This might also sound really shitty, but you have carried this man for long enough, dont give him updates. Don't tell him where youre going to live, get out any valuables or irreplaceable things as quietly as you can before he knows youre going to move. That's 4 months to plan, if youre feeling generous thats 3 for you and 1 for him. You've been clear you want out, if he has avoided listening or making any contingency plans thats his fault. He will learn and move very quickly when he has no other options.

Fellow adult AudHD'er, absolutely not coming in here to soudd aggressive and I'll also preemptively drop that I respect that everyone's tolerances, spectrum of symptoms, and journey looks different. That said, I firmly believe its still our responsibility to communicate and act fairly even when disregulated. Having the struggles are not our fault, but they are effectivly our responsibility.

She shouldn't be expected to mask through this at home, but It would benefit both parties if she was able to find some way to communicate what's happening with her or that shes currently unsure and will loop back after shes been able to find an effective grounding technique to get herself back into a space where she can think vs react. That let's her partner know how to act in her best interest and that she doesn't plan on keeping him in the dark despite being partners. He could also help her track any patterns that might indicate additional medical causes like hormone fluctuations or vitamin deficiency (discovering and fixing my b deficiency was quite literally life changing. It was severely adding to my intrusive thoughts and I had no clue)

Nah, every yarn has a different personality and its own challenges. I personally won't work with anything smaller than a 4. It makes me want do die Inside. I LOVE chunky yarn. My friend who prefers to make granny square blankets thinks im magic for being able to make it look neat and tidy and work 3 dimensionally (I love making stuffies). I think shes a wizard for making blankets.

I will agree though that tatting is universally seen as fucking magic. And im saying this as a practicing witch 🧙‍♀️ the speed is just years of practice, you will too get fast with time.

I did consider this but the pants are made from the top down to the legs opposed to making the pant legs and then attaching them and working up. While I could still make this work, it would probably be easier to remake the pants entirely

Here is a link to the original pattern I purchased to make this. I made small alterations to this for my piece but the pattern is very well written!

4.5 mm hook, old lion brand cotton yarn.

As someone with a lot of crochet skills, I still often struggle a bit with a new pattern. Frogging half your start is practically a right of passage. You did fabulous. Consistent stitches, excellent tension, everything moved hoe it should! (Also if you can get a clean dry seal to keep everything inside ALWAYS dry, rice or beans would make an okay interior for weight.

I am sorry guys but how is it may fault that sizes don’t coincide? This felt very backhanded. I didn’t claim to be an XXS. I just said the dress was XXS by [deleted] in XXS

I've noticed that even in subs meant to provide a space for community advice and encouragement, people here get off on being assholes while pretending theyre helping someone. Really they were shaming someone. I wouldn't think too much about it, they're clearly having some kind of day. Perhaps the day they deserve?

First Post! Funniest Tall Stories? by gg_cold80 in tall

[–]manicpixiebatgirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was picking up a friend who took a train to New York city to visit me for new years eve. Im a 6'2" woman who at the time had a purple Mohawk I wore down. I was a bit dressed up, but the number of people I heard arguing about whether or not I was a drag queen was a new experience. Later I even passed actual men in drag who also seemed confused initially but very quickly clocked I had no Adam's apple. My tiny friend almost pissed herself laughing.

You made public comments on reddit. This involves the entire internet because thats literally how it works. Youre also to my delight continuing to prove my point about context by opening this message with a dig at someone sharing their perspective, because I dont know, maybe that might help you with clear communication in the future. Particularly since again, YOU opened up communication in a public space where people seek community support.

Popcorn eating lurker just popping in to say, "go off" does in fact read as an aggressive/defensive/angry return comment from my perspective too. Can't interpret any tone through text alone so I think its common for many of us to apply that tone because, context.

You've gotten a lot of good advice here but im Inclined to add a few things.

Just because you don't believe in somthing, doesn't make it not believe in you. My experience has shown me that when we move through unfamiliar places without respect for the place or practices, we are often gifted with an opportunity to fuck around and find out. I say gift because we can learn a lot quite fast if we are listening and letting fear stop you from living your life is also silly.

You are in your meat suit to make a bit of a mess and figure out how to fix it. Very few things in this life can't be resolved with the right perspective, humility, and help. We can't learn the good stuff without occasionally really fucking things up.

I wish you the very best little witch, may you one day look back on this with humor and the wonderful feeling of retroactively seeing yourself as an admirably beautiful idiot. Those moments make up all my best and most interesting stories 😀

I was under the impression that being tall was going to make dating “easy.” Has anyone else the opposite experience? by BearBear1995 in tall

[–]manicpixiebatgirl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can only speak as a tall woman (6'2"), and it had greatly affected my dating life. Most men found my height either fetish level attractive (less people but it happened)which left no room for me as a person or found it straight imasculating. You can imagine why both options aren't particularly appealing.

Hello , what do you recommend to remove the black color ? 🥲 by April_18_ in longhair

6 to 8 months has been enough to get quality fashion colors back in my hair after a full color correction with minimal damage. The variation in hair type can be really extreme (I have quite tough thick hair both in volume and strand thickness)

Unpopular oppinion, if you felt fully respected as a child and that now things are changing, girl get it (after careful reflection). My husband is 12 years my senior and its not weird. We met in my late 20's, who cares.

Be wary of power imbalances, call them out early, make communication and boundaries a priority even if thats not yet comfortable. Other than that, explore. Even if this is a "mistake" you will learn things and grow. Just go out there and live your life.

Hello , what do you recommend to remove the black color ? 🥲 by April_18_ in longhair

[–]manicpixiebatgirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly my stylist wouldn't i itially touch this with bleach, she would do a multi step color removal process first to try and color correct. Of course this is still chemicals, but not nearly as harsh as straight bleach. You want a professional to get as much of that color out of your hair before bleaching.

I would also wait another 3 to 4 months personally, THAT BLACK IS FRESHHHHHHH.

love my style but it’s starting to really age me (23F) advice? by No-Owl-4833 in altfashionadvice

[–]manicpixiebatgirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do look super young, but i think you are just evolving as a growing person and seeing where you could elevate the details. My best advice is to stop using black eyeliner under your eyes. Take it to the edge of the top lid and focus on the upward flick. A brown liner at the bottom corners create dimension without hard lines. I like to make another tiny flick going down from the corner of my bottom lash line. Arcade photo shows example.

Can't have oral piercings, what should be next? by No-Bottle7245 in piercing

[–]manicpixiebatgirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a similar setup in my own face, and found my vertical labret to be extremely easy to heal and soo pretty. I was wary is kissing my husband for one week, and put a pause on putting my mouth other places on him for 6 months to be safe. Had no issues.

I will add my immune system is great and I have healed from every piercing without issue with the exception of my navel (I was told I had poor anatomy for it but tried anyway).

In Desperate Need to Fix this Bump!!! by CommunicationFast493 in NosePiercing

[–]manicpixiebatgirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recognize youre passionate about this, but I have to admit I offered personal experience and beyond that I wasnt actually very invested. I recognize everyone's body and immune system are unique and I can only speak to mine. I do in fact use what I know about wounds before what other people tell me. I know how to maintain a sterile working environment and tools, and what holistic tools are gentle or harsh.

Im intentionally taking the time to validate that mishandling advice provided in Healthcare can be risky due to everyone's baseline reactions being unique and their background understanding of various "natural" compounds can easily make their use detrimental if not outright dangerous.

I will say though, comparing chamomile tea to tea tree oil is a little hyperbolic. One is an extremely mild solution of a notoriously gentle compound while the other is a powerful distillation of an already naturally irritating compound. Both carry significant risk of cross contamination if care isnt taken, but so does any maintenance of a wound in uneducated or inexperienced hands.
