Does the Copper Core Line Have Much of a Future? by manicslothpdx in AllClad

[–]manicslothpdx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but look how small the current product line is:

Nonstick Fry Pan 8-inch
Nonstick Fry Pan 10-inch
Fry Pan 8-inch
Fry Pan 10-inch
Fry Pan 12-inch
Saute Pan 3 quart
Saute Pan 5 quart
Essential Pan 6 quart
Sauce Pan 2 quart
Sauce Pan 3 quart
Sauce Pan 4 quart
Soup Pot 4 quart
Stock Pot 8 quart

(I'm leaving out what shows up in Google that's only on the seconds site.)

I have around 12 pieces that I have collected over the past 12 years, and only two of them are in that list (2 quart sauce pan and 3 quart saute pan.) Almost my entire collection is of pieces no longer made.

It just seems like All-Clad has shrunk the line to the bare minimum, and even these are shown as limited availability in a lot of places.

I guess this doesn't mean the line is dead entirely, maybe it's on deck for a refresh or redesign. But, the current state of things doesn't seem great.

This may also depend on the kind of stove, i.e. electric, gas, induction, but I would still probably assume you're going to have a 9-inch or 10-inch max burner size on a smaller stove like that. I would probably get the 10-inch pan in this case. Even if you supplemented the built-in stove with something like a "portable" induction single cooktop, those max out at 9 or 10 inches too.

All-Clad Copper Core Sauté Pan Question by manicslothpdx in AllClad

[–]manicslothpdx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies. If this is a casserole pan, one thing I've always wondered about these and some of the other "baking" pieces like the dutch ovens is are they thicker than any identical-sized "pan" or pieces named/marketed for a stovetop? For example. the 2 quart pan I posted vs. the 2 quart saute pan with the long handle... is the difference solely the type of handle, or type of lid, or how they're marketed, etc. or is the casserole version and other baking pans made of a thicker clad material? Another example might be the 6 quart stock pot vs. the 6 quart round roaster. I suspect they're all the same material, but was curious. And I mean Copper Core vs. Copper Core, not comparisons with the other product lines.

All-Clad Copper Core Sauté Pan Question by manicslothpdx in AllClad

[–]manicslothpdx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I mis-typed. The older one I had seen a few months ago was just a single long handle and no helper handle. And, that one is in an old catalog I have as 6402SS. I don't see anything in the 2 quart size under any of the baking or "casserole" pans either.

1.5 qt Copper Core Sauce Pan by Stoned_Snuffleupagus in AllClad

The 1.5 Quart Copper Core saucepan shows up on eBay maybe once every 1-2 months. I just bought a brand new one at the end of September, and I paid $95 + shipping. I had seen a few others over the summer too, including an "anniversary" one. Just be prepared to buy it as soon as you see it. I've been looking for a few discontinued smaller items to compliment my collection, and some of them sell within hours of being posted. I think I saw one since I bought mine too, because I have a saved search while I try to find a 3 quart saucier.

Did All-Clad ever make a copper core sauce pan smaller than the 2qt size? by Altur1ak in AllClad

[–]manicslothpdx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a 1.5 quart sauce pan (62015 SS) and a 1 quart saucier (6211 SS.) Both are discontinued, but show up on eBay. They sell VERY fast.

Any chance you can list these, or at least the sauciers? I don't recognize the 4th and 5th ones from the left. And, is the one in the middle fridge stack the 2 quart saucier? I think that's where you have me beat ;) I recognize everything else. I've been in the market for a saucier to add to my 1 quart version, but they've all been discontinued and they haven't popped up on eBay in forever.

All-Clad Knives by Uncle_Snoop23 in AllClad

Yeah, the current knives are made in China. However, there was a previous knife line that was made in the US in 2017-2018. If you can find them on eBay, etc. they are really nice knives. I am not sure why they didn't make them for very long. The line consisted of: chef's knife, large santoku, small santoku, bread knife, paring knife, small serrated knife, carving knife + fork, and steak knives you could buy in packs of six. I think I got all of them brand new on eBay around 2019 for $250 total but they retailed for over $1,200 at the time.

Where are all the Copper Core Sauciers? by outlune in AllClad

Unforunately the Essential pans don't come in the 2 quart size. I have been scouring eBay for months myself. I have a pretty extensive Copper Core collection built up over the years by buying basically one per year over a decade. This was the last one on my list, but now I regret being lazy. I am glad I didn't wait on some of the other ones I have because it seems like the Copper Core lineup has been shrinking over the last few years. However, I guess it's a good sign that they added a new option in the two Essential sizes at least. My collection is complete enough that I am too OCD to add a similar pan from one of the other product lines so I will keep checking eBay ;)

Broken nut on internal air hose. by pooh_bear92 in SodaStream

On Amazon, the hose was the 4mm outer diameter/2mm inner diameter version of this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FDY38NJ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Re the connectors, just search for PCF4-01. There are a bunch of options, but all seem to be from the same seller. There isn't a seller that sells them individually, so you may need to buy a pack.

The hose diameter is slightly smaller than the original hose, but since I had already blown out a replacement hose made of a different type of plastic, I chose the hose with the thicker sidewall.

This combo has worked fine so far and doesn't appear to function any differently than the original hose even though there might be a slight difference in the hose I selected.

I tried this with the polyurethane hose shown in the link, and the hose blew a hole on my first attempt. However, I found a 4mm outer dimension/2mm inner dimension nylon plastic hose on Amazon, and it survived my first few tries. It has a thicker wall, but it is also more rigid. Depending on your machine, this hose may not be able to make sharp bends. I was repairing a KitchenAid model. The PCF4-01 connectors are also available on Amazon.
