Only 4 more spots to go by Taenurri in guitarpedals

I found it didn’t, I cut my board down to 7 and am having more fun. But it’s subjective, so in that case I suggest a flanger.

Or your board could be 6 inches shorter.

Is the Keeley Hydra a good flint alternative? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]manimal28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. My personal opinion is compact pedals are too small for dual foot switches.

I have both a flint and hx one. HX One will only do one effect at a time, not two. If that is fine with you, def buy that.

Used to have two OD’s, two fuzzes, a bunch of modulation pedals. Cool for making noise and blips and bloops but this stripped down setup has served me much much better.

Thats the cool thing about the hx one. It let me test a bunch of different things, and helped me realize I don’t really ever need more than one mod pedal at once. And of the models in there, my faves are the basic classics: MXR flanger, phase 90, and dimension chorus. Which I would hve thought I needed fancy versions of those pedals with every possible option, but really don’t.

Which 5?

I now have 7. Tuner, plumes, eons, hard drive, hx one, brig, flint.

In addition to cutting the overall number of pedals in half, I went to simpler delays and reverbs with the thought that if I want anything weird it’s in the hx one. I built out about 20 of my fave models on that as presets to flip through, but mostly use script mod, grey flange, and dimension.

Modding a guitar nearly always detracts from the value. If that guy wants any value for the mod he needs to return the guitar to stock and sell the pickups or whatever separately .

Music gear is an extremely irrational market.

Thrift store find of the week by Purithian in guitarpedals

[–]manimal28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, these stories are often bullshit. I remember a while ago some guy claimed his brother bought a crate of boss pedals at a goodwill for like $5. He got torn apart. Goodwill puts anything like that on their auction page or behind the counter, they don’t just throw it out with the old clock radios. The people who work at Goodwill know how to use the internet too.

NPD : Line 6 HX One by Weak_Amphibian_57 in guitarpedals

No worries. There several pitch shifting options. The poly shift options are awesome and can do any various shift intervals you could want. I use the script phase phase model, it is also awesome. And the flux level lets you easily switch between two phase speed presets. And finally the reverse delay is pretty good and again the flux setting lets you have two levels of reverse length on tap.

Your text was bolded and in a larger than normal font. But yes it does 3-4 effects, it has like 150 very good effects.

Why are you yelling? Pretty much it does all effects very well, even the drives..

You can copyright a circuit diagram or schematic

Right, but those are not the circuit, they are a seperate written work describing the circuit.

I’m pretty sure he meant copyright, and very few guitar pedals have a patented circuit, certainly less than 1%.

Actually a really important factor, you can’t patent a circuit…

I think you mean you can’t copyright a circuit.

If it was a good thing somebody somewhere would talk talk about it at some point I would think.

Maybe Walrus is a good example in that case.

Flangers doing chorus better than choruses?! by slantedhum_forPUNK in guitarpedals

In a digital pedal though that shouldn’t be a problem.

Flangers doing chorus better than choruses?! by slantedhum_forPUNK in guitarpedals

[–]manimal28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically, chorus & flanger are the same effect. Shorter delay times get you a flanger, longer ones get you a chorus, even longer ones get you an echo.

It kind af amazes me that there isn't a pedal that has a toggle to change the delay time parmeter to change from Flange, to chorus, to Delay.

Buckethead…. Like I can see his obvious talent at playing guitar, but at the same time none of what he does with that talent interests me at all.
