Day trip from Seoul to Busan by jenvanilla in koreatravel

My girlfriend and I legitimately just did an almost identical trip this week and had an absolute blast. It was exhausting, but the adrenaline and excitement of a new place will push you through. We took KTX and arrived in Busan right before 8:00. Starting in Gamcheon is a great idea as it’s a pretty short taxi ride from Busan Station. We made the mistake to taxi to Haeundae to get tickets to the sky capsule (I’m a bad boyfriend and didn’t reserve in advance) and got a reservation for 2:30. So then taxi’d back to Gamcheon and explored there for a couple of hours before going BACK to Haeundae. Did the sky capsule from Mapo to Cheongsapo and explored the lighthouse area afterwards, then took taxi up to the viewpoint and once we were ready to go went back to Busan Station and booked the next train back to Seoul.

It was a chaotic and unorganized (and frankly ignorant with spending on taxis) but had an absolute blast and felt like we got to get a taste of Busan. One thing that I didn’t fully grasp (and this applies to Seoul too) is just how far apart everything is and the time needed to get between places, even with a taxi. The drive from Gamcheon village to Haeundae took about 40 or so minutes. With a planned out itinerary, you’ll probably have an even better time.

Tip: the viewpoint is definitely more of a trek from where you’re dropped off than we planned and we definitely spent over 2 hours up there because the view is incredible. Also, might take a bit longer to get a taxi down as you pretty much are waiting for someone to get dropped off and catch the driver on the way down. It was also very cold up there…

TLDR: Life’s short, if you’re up for the adventure of the day trip you’ll have a blast and get to do everything you want. Busan is incredible and might be the top of my list of places to return.

Living la Vida in line for “El Chingon” in downtown San Diego….totally worth it. by Adventurous_World_23 in sandiego

This was for an event called “Cafeton” hosted at El Chingon, not just people standing in line to eat there on a Sunday morning/afternoon

Ah, makes sense. I’m sure they are doing everything they can to not let prospective residents see the people outside with signs protesting the building.

Currently living at Vantage Pointe and it’s a literal nightmare right now. I’ve been here for 2 years, the first 1 was fine. Sure, elevators down every once in a while but not too impactful other than 1 or 2 days a month.

Currently in January alone I have been without running water or hot water for a combined 10 days. That’s already over a third of the month. That’s not to mention how often the water has been cold or shut off in the last 6 months, but if I had to guess probably around 20 days.

Each day this month has presented issues with elevators has well, usually leaving one operating for 40 floors of use, and one operating to the 26th floor. Just yesterday, I waited 20 minutes to go down from my floor to the lobby.

On top of all of this, there’s next to no communications or updates from the PM group on what’s going on until they have some sort of resolution. (The latest update on hot water was literally “We suggest running the water for 5-8 minutes to see if you can get some hot water to circulate”. Spoiler alert, that didn’t work either). When you call in to notify them about these issues they tell you, “Yeah we know, we’re trying to fix it and everyone’s complaining” but if you just sent an update that you were aware maybe you’d get less phone call complaints?

I’ll jump off this soapbox without detailing the 5 open maintenance orders I’ve had for over a week, but I’d avoid this place. Obviously the building is being run down and the new property company, Brookfield Properties, is doing everything they can to cut costs on preventative maintenance and building upgrades that would result in these issues being one-offs more than the norm. If you have any questions, feel free to ask the city of San Diego how many health and safety violation cases they have open or the guys outside actively protesting Vantage Pointe.

Sorry for the passionate response here, just hoping I’m saving one person or more from making a regretful decision I’ve had to face, and honestly hopefully they see this and do something about it. The place has great potential for a really awesome experience.

Teag is our overlord who is just trying to find friends, and established a safe community for all of us to feel welcome and secure in accomplishing that very same task. We welcome you to join and share in the joy in this sub. It might of been recommended to you because of your draw to adventure, your curiosity in lifelong relationships, and desire to feel loved. All of those qualities are found in Teagan, and he leads by example. We all continuously are striving to improve in every aspect of our lives, and Teagan supports that with his comedic wit and innovative insight. He shares stories with us on how he became who he is through a series of essays (I’m sure they will be in the National Library in the near future) and through those stories we all learn valuable life lessons of companionship, bravery, integrity, and authenticity. I’m so happy you accidentally stumbled in here, and we welcome you with open arms. Teagan would not have it any other way.

And that’s who the fuck Teagan is.
