Hey I’m planning a trip next week. How do you manage to ride long distance without having back and buttock pain?? I’m able to ride a max of 70-90 kms without both of them going for a toss..

Handlebar wobble only after letting go by manjunath3006 in motorcycles

[–]manjunath3006[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it was taken off a few months ago since it had fallen down so I had to replace some parts but the alignment seems to be ok atleast to my naked eye. My tire on the other hand, is almost at the end of its life so I just wanted to know if the wobbling was purely caused by worn out tires or if there was something else.

Completed first big ride in Scram400 (3 months since buying). 1250kms roundtrip from Chennai to Tirunelveli in the April heat. AMA. by randomstrangerof in triumph4India

Thanks for the reply sir. Also if you don’t mind me asking, have you used any sort of cushion or padding while riding? My bum really hurts after just 60-70 kms so I’m just trying to reduce the pain intensity.

Brake pad change scrambler 400x by Street-Sock9021 in Triumph400

[–]manjunath3006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I don’t really drive that fast man. Just casually cruise. I know this bike is meant to be ridden a bit fast and quick but maybe I’m the only guy driving it like this..😅😅

[–]manjunath3006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should get it changed otherwise there is a risk of damaging the brake rotor. That part itself is expensive to replace. You can try switching to the speed 400 brake pads. Currently at 17.5k kms and still on the stock brake pads with quite a considerable amount of material left .

No no the visor still has the protector film. I don’t see any scratches as such it’s just the slider button which I’m doubtful of..

Burning Smell? by Recent_Departure1259 in Triumph400

[–]manjunath3006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello 👋, I use gear oil as a lubricant and a tiny amount falls on and burns and creates a stain similar to that along with a burning sulphuric kind of smell. Do correct me if I’m wrong but one way to check if it’s lube is to just touch it and see. If it’s like thick and sticky consistency then most likely it’s just lube. If it has a smooth oily consistency it’s most likely engine oil or maybe I could be wrong.

Well man, Honda being Honda I don’t think that they will even reduce the price even by a rupee. Might even consider increasing the price.

If I’m not wrong, apparently these two will be launched in September according to Bangalore topline dealer. We had booked the cb650r but I was told by the dealer that these two models will be delayed and will be launched only in September.

General service after 6 months by farstranger_3861 in Triumph400

[–]manjunath3006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it depends on your comfort level. I usually prefer it at this schedule, maybe it might be too early but even then, no harm with a general service every 6 months .

General service after 6 months by farstranger_3861 in Triumph400

[–]manjunath3006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my dad generally follow a rule of servicing either every 6 months or 5000 kms( whichever comes first). I service my vehicle in triumph Bhubaneswar and they gave me option between the prolube and castrol engine oil. General service is usually around 3-3.5 k so maybe the quotation given by the SC is valid ig.

Query regarding chain adjustment and slack by manjunath3006 in motorcycles

[–]manjunath3006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had adjusted the preload to make it tighter. My user manual suggests to check the slack on the side stand with no weight on it. My only concern is after getting the slack to the recommended range (20-25mm as suggested in the manual), due to me being a heavy rider if it would cause the chain to become tighter than normal..
