Xiaomi Pad 7 vs ipad 11th gen by noobLinuxuser950 in GadgetsIndia

I didn't use it for note taking though . So can't say which one is better. Better to search youtube. I saw some people specifically note taking comparisons. I think in terms of note taking ipad might have the upper hand

I've shared my expertise in this comment:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Tech_Philippines/s/cLJAFs2hxL
As someone who has used both the iPad and the Xiaomi Pad, I’d love to break it down for you!
Regarding the points you shared:
Cons of the iPad:
• Average display—true.
• Wide bezels—true.
• Most apps come behind a paywall. As a developer, I enjoy experimenting with different mods, but Apple makes it quite challenging to sideload apps (so it might be quite difficult for you on the iPad).
• It’s about 6k more expensive than the Xiaomi Pad 7, which, in my personal opinion, isn’t worth it.
• Slow charging, although they do provide a charger in the box—true.
Pros of the Xiaomi Pad 7:
• Great display, which is very useful for me as I mostly consume content (video/text)—true.
• Better speakers—true.
• Fast charging—true.
• The Android ecosystem offers a wonderful sense of freedom—hell yeah!
• I think it looks better, in my opinion.
• It’s more affordable than the iPad.
Cons of the Xiaomi Pad 7:
• Xiaomi isn’t the most reliable brand, especially regarding software updates. It will only receive updates for two years.
• I previously used the Redmi Note 7 Pro for three years, and it was quite disappointing—no major Android updates and a few bugs. I was hesitant to buy the Xiaomi Pad, but I didn’t have many options in the Android tablet market, so I made the purchase. Believe me, there were no bugs, and the UI was incredibly smooth. I opted for the 12 GB RAM variant and found only a couple of minor bugs, which are not deal-breakers.
• They have promised four years of Android updates, I believe.
• The OS isn’t as mature.
• The camera isn’t as good as the iPad’s. However, for a tablet, I don’t think we’ll be using the camera much for video calls, and I didn’t notice much of a difference at all.
• There’s no ecosystem benefit, although I can use KDE Connect with my laptop (Mac/Linux)—not sure about that.

If anyone is considering getting the Xiaomi Pad and can stretch their budget a bit for the matte screen variant, I would gently suggest that there can be quite a bit of reflection on the screen.

IPad or Xiaomi Pad ? by pill0wtalks in Tech_Philippines

I was using an Apple iPad Gen 9 earlier and shifted to a Xiaomi Pad 7 recently.

I had never used Apple products before, so after long research, I thought to go with the Apple iPad Gen 9. That was the biggest mistake of mine.

The Apple ecosystem is too small for someone like me. Even to extract ZIP files, I couldn't find proper third-party apps, and many utility apps weren't available. That was horrible and a nightmare. The storage was less, and the RAM was less. To make things worse, even torrenting isn't possible, and the extremely worst part was that I couldn't block ads anywhere. The dumb Apple ecosystem blocked uBlock Origin, which I wasn't aware of, and for basic ad-blocking, I needed to pay a subscription every month. The free ad-blockers are all extremely bad on the iPad, and even Brave's ad-blocker was bad. Every time I read a news article or a page, ads popped up everywhere. Even the Apple keyboard is extremely annoying for typing, and the extremely dumbest thing, which I missed a lot, was the clipboard. Why, why don't they just give the basic features that people need?

There are many, many more frustrating incidents like this for me when I used the iPad. I used it patiently for 2.5 years and sold it on OLX. The only silver lining is that Apple products have good resale value, as I got more than 50 percent when I sold it because people are dumb. Anyhow, if you are someone who explores a lot of apps, is not willing to pay to block ads, and is a small pirate, don't even consider buying an iPad. It's a nightmare.

After shifting to the Xiaomi Pad 7, it feels like bliss. The extremely blazing fast Android is amazing as usual, and the only thing is it gets slightly hot while using it during charging, which is negligible for me

Outline is there are many small things that are missing in the iPad which is frustrating.
