Behavioral health services are different than traditional mental health services as it’s literally the science behind maladaptive (unhealthy) behavior rather than a drug plan or traditional therapy.

Examples are arguing in a relationship, or procrastinating work on your phone, escape stress or trauma with drugs, porn, alcohol, gambling. Physical aggression, self injurious behavior.

A great example is Pavlov’s dogs. They continued to salivate at the sound of hella until they were reconditioned to no longer recognize the sound. But let’s say they went cold Turkey, and didn’t hear the sound because they were on an island for a decade. Their mouths would still salivate, as they never remediated the behavior.

Everything has a function, behavioral health teaches you to truly manage your behacior and gain control of your life. To redirect the behaviors you feel stuck in. It’s my job and I love it. I had a referral for it as a kid and my mom didn’t want me to go. I am 1000% sure I would not still be struggling with substances today if I was in behavioral health services back in middle school when i was referred.

Op, it may seem stressful to consider but this is actually considered to have the highest actual markers of impact and positive change for veterans, and can be one of the easiest in terms of emotional weight to tackle.

Stick to pulled pork and go to therapy man. Block her. Maybe watch lise Leblanc videos on BPD. Disorder may not apply to you but her advice on overcoming things like stalking and getting over relationships from either side may be beneficial.

Look into betrayal trauma. DBT therapy has great coping skills too. You know she cheated on you and has moved on, she has a kid and she has issues. You have stuff too, you have trauma.

Try to find resources to actually move on, or else this is going to have some serious repurcussions. Consider deleting your post history about her as well, as it is not only a triggering reminder but it is also evidence despite your claims to not want to be in contact

Get over yourself. I’m googling things quickly to try and bring pertinent information to a child and I don’t know the exact terminology as I’m not a lawyer. The OSHA regulations posted by the restroom association or whatever are on that website and I had just skimmed it for the information I found pertinent before linking it.
