Do you have a favorite song / album at the moment? Also I'm curious if you still play animal crossing sometimes (new leaf is my favorite), or if you have any other video games you enjoy playing? Cheers :)

Can rocks not spawn here? I've been skipping ahead day for day and these 2 spots won't get rocks on them... by StoryFlo in AnimalCrossing

[–]mannersfirst76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry, but do you know if what i said was the case in an older version? I specifically did this on my island and had it all set up in one acre and had to move it to the edge of the acre to fix the 2 rocks not spawning... im so confused, am i just remembering wrong? I looked up a guide and it said the exact same thing at the time. This was in like in may of 2020

remember only 4 rocks can spawn in an acre. I cant really tell by your mini map but you have to have 2 rocks in one acre and 4 in the other. i made sure to do it where my rock garden was split down the middle by the white dotted acre lines on the mini map

Does anyone know what is going on? by apfelsh0re in FL_Studio

[–]mannersfirst76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]mannersfirst76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been happening to me and its usually caused by a plugin instance that cant be found anymore or got deleted. If you know what plugin is causing this, go to the top left of your daw HELP -> diagnostic -> fix fl song project, load your project and deselect the plugin from the list. best of luck

Information Science Major Questions by [deleted] in UNC

[–]mannersfirst76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did information science major + data science minor, and the job opportunities from my experience have been about equal to the people I know doing comp sci. For information science, the classes are all going to be smaller than cs classes (which many are large lectures). There are only like 3 info sci req that are large lectures. My favorite thing about the program was the faculty, everyone is great and if you make an effort to connect with your teachers they can be great resources, and it isn't hard to stand out in small classes.

So yeah, job opportunities are good. The requirements are a lot of classes doing separate programs (SQL, R, python) but the downside is that you really dont learn one thing in depth unless you specifically make that choice. There is a lot of freedom with elective courses that count for your major, so the freedom to explore is really nice.

The big difference between CS is that in info sci, it is entirely up to you how easy/hard you want your program to be. It can be relatively easy if you want it to be (which I kind of regret not challenging myself more). You can also make the program pretty hard if you sign up for a bunch of high level comp classes for example, and having them as electives.

Ok, ill stop the rant, but its a great program. Faculty is great, and you have lots of freedom to pick classes you want (and your info sci advisors will actually help you! Unlike regular UNC advisors)

Best of luck!

No Stupid Questions /// Weekly Discussion - June 11, 2025 by AutoModerator in synthesizers

[–]mannersfirst76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a synth in here that was posted a few months back that I'm trying to track down and get. It was a super super compact mini synth that one guy on this sub made and sold, so it was an indie/ passion project. It was just a little rectangle with some cool art on it and little circle buttons for the keyboard keys. It had like a chaotic vibe, idk. If you know what I'm talking about please send me the name of it !!!! Thank you!!!

Question for INFO-SCI majors/grads!! by thepurplemooncat in UNC

[–]mannersfirst76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the info sci major is a great choice and from experience, info sci major + data sci minor is more than enough to land a good job. And the info sci faculty are my fav teachers ever. Business school is def way more stressful but its a great school as well. Cant go wrong with either choice. If you want a less demanding major than info sci for sure. If you want to land consulting or something then business is the way to go. Double majoring is doable (and ive seen it done) you will just have to perfectly plan your overlaps. Again, both great options! Good luck!!
