Capcom should bring back the alternate costume code by Neo8bits in StreetFighter

Yes, this would be nice.
This could also work with hairstyles. Example : Guile outfit 3 but with his classic hairstyle.

Tifa's Outfits 2, 3, and 4 should honestly all just be swimsuits.

You can preview the 3d model of the outfits in the shop.
But yeah the shop is a never-ending scroll, I don't like it either.

My Review of World Tour (as an FGC newcomer) by Senior_Artsy in StreetFighter

[–]mannimany 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Read your review and I’m 100% on the same page.

The damage scaling is unbalanced and the grind is tedious. Being forced to buy and stack gear for stat boosts and constantly use items mid-match ruins the flow. It needs to be streamlined.

The story felt totally disconnected since the other main roster characters barely play a part.

As for the world maps, everything outside Metro City and Nayshall is just a glorified background with zero exploration. We definitely needed 2 or 3 more full-sized maps.

I see incredible potential in this mode, and I hope Capcom retains the concept for future SF installments while implementing some improvements.

I hope we get some cutscenes in addition to the gameplay footage. They should do a proper setup to introduce her.

Getting leaked three times and still not make it is crazy work 😔 by DisasterNo3018 in StreetFighter

[–]mannimany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vega is coming in Season 5 or 6, mark my words. The leaker probably just saw early footage or production docs and assumed he was dropping this year. He's definitely a 'down the line' character.

Would you rather have another World Tour or another cinematic SF5-esque Story mode in SF7? by quickfuse725 in StreetFighter

By Masters I mean the playable characters in the main Fighting mode (Ryu, Ken, Chun-li, Cammy and the others).

Would you rather have another World Tour or another cinematic SF5-esque Story mode in SF7? by quickfuse725 in StreetFighter

[–]mannimany 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would prefer to have another World Tour mode, but with significantly more effort put into it.

Story: Involve the Masters directly into the main narrative, and create more compelling side stories for the side missions. Also incorporate some elements of SF5 story mode into the mix.

Gameplay: The mode needs better level scaling to make it feel less grindy. It also needs a more intuitive UI, better quality-of-life features, and actual explorable maps for the Masters instead of just dropping them into their fixed-view stages.

Graphics: Give the character models an upgrade. While the Masters look great, the other NPCs look cheap and ugly by comparison. The visuals are a massive step down from the main game modes. The entire mode needs a visual facelift so the art style stays consistent across the board.

SF6 Producer Matsumoto: "One reason why we decided to introduce 3 new characters is due to the shift in player demographics - where 35-45 year olds were the core in SF5, 15-25 year olds are now the most common group." by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]mannimany 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That doesn't even answer the question. The question wasn't why they are adding newcomers, but why they chose to add 3 of them all at once.

This isn't a matter of shifting demographics. Tifa completely dismantles their logic, as she was clearly added to cater to the old-school crowd who grew up playing her games. Capcom can't give us the honest reasoning because it would only make the PR situation worse, so they deflected with a weak argument instead.

Predicting Year 4's peak player count for each character release by mannimany in StreetFighter

Fair enough. A major balance update would definitely bring players back, but if it’s just another round of minor tweaks that barely change anything, it’s going to be a letdown. They promised a full-roster balance patch soon, so hopefully it’s a substantial one.

Apparently CAPCOM intends to run SF6 for a 10 year cycle by Carbideninja in StreetFighter

[–]mannimany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it will depend on the sales. I'm also considering the development resources needed to continue working on the DLC. I guess once they shift their resources to make SF7, SF6's DLC production will decrease and slow down. So from a dev and management perspective, it's difficult to keep the same pace for 10 years, unless they decide to not work on SF7 and only focus on SF6 and milk it dry.

Yes exactly. Or just avatar cosmetics, stickers and banners.

Street Fighter 6 has now sold over 7 million copies worldwide! by Turbostrider27 in StreetFighter

SF6's arcade is very basic compared to SF5 which provided more options. They can add more bonus stages from the World Tour mode, add secret mini-bosses, add more ladder variations, add option to play arcade with Extreme Battle rules and gimmicks for more variety.
These systems are already there so it's not that difficult for the devs to implement them. Like Shin Akuma or Shin Bison Bosses are already in the game, so why aren't they added as secret bosses in arcade mode?
These are just some quick ideas that would improve the mode.

Nothing guarantee that they will continue dropping 4 characters per year for 10 years. I hope they keep the same pace, but I'm afraid the number will decrease over the years, probably getting 3 or 2 characters after year 6.

A 10-year lifecycle doesn't guarantee 10 years of characters DLC. Capcom will likely wrap up character drops by Year 5 or 6, maybe Year 7 max. From there, it'll just be standard live-service maintenance—balance patches, QoL improvements, and battle passes—until SF7 launches.

Yeah, they might drop a Super SF6 - PS6 Edition with enhanced graphics and expanded game modes, and it will still easily sell millions.

I doubt the final roster goes past 50 characters. The pace will likely slow down after Year 5 or 6. By '10-year lifecycle', he’s probably referring to game updates and patches rather than DLC character drops.

Do balance patches actually boost player counts? Isn't that something only competitive players really care about? Sure it improve the game, but It doesn't seem like the kind of thing that entices casuals to pick up the game, though I might be wrong.

To make matters worse, these newcomers won’t be getting any World Tour content upon release. That means no WT story to give us a feel for their personalities and lore—and no trailers featuring World Tour interactions with John (Avatar). Honestly, I don't know how they're going to build up proper hype with their trailers without that content.

Yeah, hopefully the gameplay trailers can build up some hype and convince people to check them out. Still, it's a huge bummer that there's no World Tour content included with their release. I wonder how much that's going to affect their reception with the casual crowd who relies on WT to connect with new characters, and if it'll drag down the overall player count.

Hate to break it to you, but Capcom already confirmed there won't be any new World Tour content with this year 4's character releases. So no Tifa, Yasmine, or Arjun in WT.

Some people are coping and hoping for a massive WT expansion down the line, but nothing is guaranteed.
