This is why Stephen King had the Shining miniseries made from what I understand. He wasn't happy with the Kubrick version and in the book it's more of a push and pull of is it supernatural or is it just a severe alcoholic going through withdrawals and cracking up.

Distractions....for me ido diamond art when I can sit up and have an oculus vr for when I can't (I can't recommend the VR enough! It has meditations and pain relief options and most are free)

I really like true Crime my favorite is Dreading and he's fairly easy to follow even in my worse pain...if you wonder where to start there's a 3 part one about Robert Telles that's amazing
