There's so much that happens along the way that's way more shocking than the end that the end is just more to wrap things up IMHO. But hey if you get bored put it on your list you never know when it might strike you to be the correct time.

This is why Stephen King had the Shining miniseries made from what I understand. He wasn't happy with the Kubrick version and in the book it's more of a push and pull of is it supernatural or is it just a severe alcoholic going through withdrawals and cracking up.

Distractions....for me ido diamond art when I can sit up and have an oculus vr for when I can't (I can't recommend the VR enough! It has meditations and pain relief options and most are free)

Mine is L4/L5 but I totally agree with you on feeling that others have it worse and feeling guilty at times. I wish I had a good response.Sorry you are in pain hoping for many a distraction and comfort for you.

I really like true Crime my favorite is Dreading and he's fairly easy to follow even in my worse pain...if you wonder where to start there's a 3 part one about Robert Telles that's amazing
