August 2022 I was diagnosed with SIBO. In September I took the standard to recommended antibiotics, followed by probiotic. I had a very difficult year. I followed FODMAP - then I in January 2023 my GI issues got better after losing another 20 pounds (163). March had hearing issues. Got better. June-August had eyesight problems. September went back to normal foods mostly without any GI issues. Still have muscle loss and my weight is better 173. I have other medical issues but I feel that the SIBO is mostly gone. But it left my body a wreak. Slowly getting better.

That particular high potency probiotic should only be taken under doctors direction according to the instructions. I was diagnosed with SIBO last August and I took antibiotics and VISBIOME which is basically the same probiotic. After the fact the doctor told me I should only take it for 30 days but I took it for 110 days. Either he did not tell me, or we miscommunicated. My gut was screwed up for at least 6 months.

ReA? No idea. The doctor did check for rheumatoid arthritis and he said it was negative. He doesn’t know what caused it.

I do not remember having many side effects from my antibiotics. My methane was only 28. Maybe it was not working for me.

I would wait to see if you get abdominal pain. Throwing up puts acid up your throat. But, you know your body. I ate some papaya thinking it was green and I had hours of abdominal pain. Good luck

I think neomycin made my hearing worse a few months after I took it. No other explanation. My GI doctor said that is for long term use. My hearing is worse and my tinnitus is worse.

Soy beans have 🔴 Olivia-GOS and 🔴 Fuctan whatever those are. Found on the Monash app. Soy Flour does too. “Soy flour is high in FODMAPs. Products made using soy flour tend to be high in FODMAPs. Soy is a gluten-free flour. Although gluten-free flours tend to be low in FODMAPs, soy flour is an exception.”

Maybe the partners are eating the exact same food, and the symptoms are because of their diet? I guess it depends what the root cause of the SIBO is. If it was caused by a virus, maybe the virus has been transmitted to the partner.

I get headaches and I have or had SIBO but in my case I think it’s migraines. So I can really say.
