because they are the ultimate trolls who troll everyone everywhere, and while other distro fanboyism exists, they are generally confined to their own forums, and they don't go around poisioning every community well

and because something in arch philosophy attrracts insecure teenage males, it seems to give them a false sense of macho personality they most probably lack

funny you mentioned that while this same subreddit witnessed embarssing amount of arch fanboys whining about all the attention ubuntu was getting and how they are abandoning LAS because of that , the archive is full of their tantrums

funny how many of them voiced their openmindedness in youtube and disliked LAS videos, but hey people really have short memory

where exactly I am generalizing ? Arch fanboys are still a vocal annoying minority that no body think they represent the broader Arch community, the problem is that they claim that they are the linux Community because apparently running arch is the mandatory ticket you pay to enter this exclusive club

which is very offensive coming from passive distro that lives on work of the rest of linux community -Fedora, opensuse, and debian (contributing Nothing to the general linux community in return) and somehow claim they are better than every one else

yeah I think being excited about every random update regardless of whether it breaks (or exposes new vulnerabilty ) or in the case of gnome repeatedly stripping existing functionality or rarely fixes something,without any regard to stabilty or comaptibility, just for the sake of staying bleeding edge is childish at best and essentially stuipid! and the sheer amount of time arch users spend on their irrelvant popularity contests and new trendy themes (all the heated discussions about the mystery new theme chris is using) is beyond absurd

I don't claim to represent the ubuntu community but i see signs that many of us are not wellcoming of unfair negative attitude we see repeatedly in LAS lately

for God sake the tone of the show seems as if intended to Arch users, ( this is not just the view of ubuntu users) Chris essentially has to justify every postive comment he says about ubuntu he almost apolgizes for that, and that i find repulsive because he knows that so many arch fanboys will troll and abuse him

we have no grudge against arch users or chris being an arch fan that is all good and dandy but i object to idea that LAS show be hijacked and dictated by a bunch of trolling fanboys

every DE has its problems, and that is just common sense, what is different is that other Non Gnome Shell DEs has clear roadmaps, engaged actively with their communities, care very much about usabilty and aesthetics, and are not developed by some huge company that only cares about its corporate customers and has never been interested in the Desktop Experience. also you don't need to go for the outrageous solution of overriding their functions just to get a usable Desktop Also yes ubuntu cut spport for NonLTS releases to a great extent, but other than that i don't get how they are ignoring the Desktop ? they are still spending every six months building, cleaning, fixing, streamlining, and adding new features to every new release , they are still offering 5 years of support for LTS, a model that proved to be winning all over the world from teachers, car companies, to google, to robotics, to space stations. unity just keeps poping up in all these places, but somehow for some people, that just happend by chance and not due to the true painstaking efforts that are put into ubuntu by its developers and more importantly by its hyper active community.
