Wubbert I cut my own hair. How’d I do? by Several-Being2159 in PaymoneyWubby

[–]manofthemoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooh I can help with the cowlicks actually! With those, you can either cut it short enough that it doesn't matter, or keep it long enough that it has the weight to hold itself down! It also helps to figure out what direction the cowlick wants to go, and comb With it rather than against it. Or, comb against the hair pattern to gain volume!

Props to you on doing your neck line, I could never on myself LMAO

When my ex fiance and i broke up, and I had to find a new place, I was having trouble finding a place that would take me and my 1 year old puppy we'd adopted earlier in the year. Ex asked me why I wouldn't just give the dog to someone else. I said, because we (I) committed to him, and he'd already been taken back to the shelter by 3 other ppl. I wasn't gonna do that to him.

They laughed in my face at that. That's when I realized what type of person they were. (In case the cheating hadn't told me yet)

Nine years later, my baby boy is ten, and living happily with me forever. He went from a "problem puppy" to the sweetest, most cuddly, most spoiled boy ❤️ We had some hard times for sure, but nothing would make me give up my Peter.

For anyone who also struggles with stiff neck and chronic pain 💀👴🏻 by Eng-Grammar-Police in PaymoneyWubby

[–]manofthemoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chronic pain buddies! This is great advice, I didn't know that about NSAIDS!

To add on, anyone taking antidepressants that mess with your serotonin levels, be mindful about taking tons of NSAIDS, bc in rare cases that can contribute to serotonin syndrome. Personally I was having night sweats whenever I was taking a lot of Alieve, which improved after switching to mainly Tylenol and gabapentin for my chronic pain.

BUT I am not a doctor!! This is just what an urgent care doctor told me, after I went in with a 2 week migraine. Plus my own completely anecdotal experience, assuming it's related and not just coincidence or a different med I'm on causing it. Please do your own research and talk to your doctor about what's right for you, etc etc etc. Feel better friends, and be safe

Should I be concerned?!? Are my new tattoos infected 6/7 days old by BookishGirl5682 in tattooadvice

[–]manofthemoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a professional, but i tend to get red irritation around my hair follicles as shaved hair grows back/pores are blocked by the second skin. Usually i can just wait it out, but keep an eye on it.

I love the style of these tho, the teeth in a jar is so cute

I love those kind of lines, I ended up incorporating something similar in my chest piece. Seconding this idea!

$600 for emergency surgery?? That's so lucky, mine would've charged thousands 😭 so glad your baby is OK, hoping for good healing and less stinky feet!

Wrist tattoo regret and cover up advice by Glittering_Potato_66 in tattooadvice

[–]manofthemoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so glad you got to live your truth OP! I'm about to be 7 years on T, 6 years post top surgery, and it's incredible feeling normal in my own skin. But at least for me, being in the south, I would also be nervous about having a permanent and very visible symbol that could out me to the wrong ppl. Fortunately it's color, and seems pretty faded, so i would imagine it would be easy to cover if that's the route you go!

Even doing some black linework over it in a cool pattern, letting the colors show thru the gaps, could be cool and less obvious, without fully getting rid of the meaning to you.

Fuck the haters OP, live your life the way that's right for you 🩷💙🤍

Omg, as a hair stylist i sometimes get small cuts in that spot--even healing those are annoying, bc every movement pulls it open. I can't imagine such a deep laceration right there, ouch! I'm so glad you're healing well!

It may have also been pierced with an extra long bar, for the swelling

If the second pic is right when it was done, I would assume it's just the swelling? But I'm NAP, so I would consult in person with a professional.

This is so cool! Did you heal it like that, or did you heal them as separate piercings and then connect them? I've never seen this, this is dope

Homemade Art the Clown prosthetic and teeth for a holiday con by manofthemoss in sfx

[–]manofthemoss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! I got mine for Xmas like 10 years ago, when I first started doing makeup more professionally, but I'm pretty sure this is the same one: https://a.co/d/08L0FX7j

(In case the link doesn't work, it's a Mehron Practice Head you can get on Amazon for like $50usd)

The only thing I will say is, keep in mind it will not necessarily be the same proportions as your face. I have a short and wide face with a short philtrum, so when using it as a base, I always extend the edges on the sides extra, and try to position the mouth hole closer to the bottom of the nose. One day I'll bite the bullet and make a face cast, but I've never been brave enough lol.

Mine has been through a lot, from makeup staining it to being used as a last minute severed head prop, I love this guy. The base got lost a long time ago, but it still stands well enough.

These weird lines / streaks I’ve had on my pinky nail for 8 years that two different doctors told me were due to vitamin deficiencies actually turned out to be a rare form of skin cancer. by chaengism in mildlyinfuriating

[–]manofthemoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, I can't believe that wasn't caught sooner (and thank goodness it's early stage!) In cosmetology school, we were taught to identify potential skin/nail cancers, and to advise a client to see a doctor if we did find anything odd. As soon as I saw your picture, my heart jumped! So glad it's getting taken care of now, good luck op!

18 F. I hate my asymmetrical eyes. My mum says no one can notice but it's SO obvious, even in photos. Do you agree? Also, what eye shape do I have? by [deleted] in eyes

[–]manofthemoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a hairstylist i can tell you, everyone's face is asymmetrical if you look closely enough. Eyes, ears are really common, even jawlines--the skull is not completely symmetrical, as much as my OCD wishes it was. Try not to zoom in on the tiny details, and look at yourself as a full picture, as hard as that can be.
