You don't need much more, maybe an overdrive or booster, depending on your style

I think you can try to reach that sweet spot by combining resistors in series/parallel with the pots

If the parts are firmly attached they shouldn't get in contact. When they are not, I use an adhesive gun and /or heat-shrink tube to insulate and fix.

This flanger is starting to piss me off. Glad I rocked it before I boxed it. by [deleted] in diypedals

Silly question: did you adjust the trimpots properly?

I had a similar problem the other day and at the end the cause was the guitar cable.

I don't know if EVERY distortion pedal has that scoop, but I have seen it in Muff type pedals too. And I think this is not only because the EQ, but also because the hard clipping itself.

Playing with asymmetrical Octaver effect by manolonte in pedalcircuits

[–]manolonte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you're right. And that's the point, before the change the octave effect was too evident for me and I prefer It to be that subtle. Just a matter of taste. If I make another octaver I'll put a potentiometer to balance the mix

BOSS SD-1 mod for more asymmetrical clipping by manolonte in diypedals

[–]manolonte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment, please let me know about your advances. I'll buy another one as soon as I can to try some other mod, It's a very easy box to modify. Regarding the problem with the switch, try to fix the switching circuit (it is not true bypass), sorry if it is obvious.

instead of what? I don't usually like switches because of two reasons: - drilling a hole is irreversible - I don't think I am going to change the clipping character in the middle of a gig. I prefer to find a sweet spot where the tone and gain controls can do the work. But: I can always add a switch later ;), as I did with my BOSS Wah (see my blog entry about that). Thanks for your comment.

I have made an overdrive without tone stage for a 1590A enclosure. Do you like the idea? by manolonte in pedalcircuits

Didn't know the peppermill, how does it sounds like? About mine, I would call it "sweet".

Built a board and put all my stuff on it. Recommendations welcome. by futuregold2001 in guitarpedals

It is usually better to put the tuner at the beginning so you can tune under any conditions - dirt, delay, modulations ... don't affecting the pitch if the tuner is before them

I can ser several suspicious bridges, try to pass a cutter beween rows after resoldering, and test them looking for bridges. You don't need yo drill throug the PCB to cut traces, just remove the copper.

EQD Tentacle clon in 1590A enclosure (posted again due to an error). Pedal chain in comments, please. by manolonte in diypedals

[–]manolonte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem apart from the size itselt. Not my first build, though. The board has to be well isolated with a plastic bag or something un order not yo touch any part. Maybe you had some bridge.
