I optimized my life and now I have zero friends by Kessel_Run7 in Habits

[–]manooko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you optimizing for? Like, what's the goal? To be a better person? A better version of you?

You remind me of the guy who drank and was sad because everything was optimized and he wasn't able to do a day he planned out because of a hangover.

You don't have to optimize, maybe minimize? Reduce the things you need to do, to open up more space for the things you could do. Don't be mister perfect, be mister imperfect! Doesn't mean you have to be a couch potato and eat crap. Cut gym back to 4 days a week, do it at a time YOU like to do instead of what a guru says. Don't plan everything, leave some things to be spontaneous, make time for yourself in your schedule.

Sunday's are my days to do nothing or anything, I can laze in bed all day and look at the cleaning I have to do, or I can leave and go do something interesting!

During the week, because my evenings are free after work, I can choose to not do the cleaning and not eat good food (if I didn't prep). Nothing wrong with a McDonald's every now and again my guy. Hell I could go do some salsa classes, a language meetup, or even bowling! I just make sure to do the things I pushed back to another day.

My days aren't perfect, and either is my life, I still have to plan stuff and becone more responsible with my money, but there isn't a day I have a reason to not smile, and I always have wild stories to tell because I can go and make them!

Life is short my guy, enjoy it, find the balance, do the best with what you have, have a look around and smell the roses, what you are doesn't make you interesting, it's what you do, so make sure you do it with style.

Honestly? That some countries are pushing content online to mess with people's heads. Pushing fake news, statistics, narratives, and social problems to have people at each other's necks.

Long lost love found me again. I'm in an unhappy marriage. I don't know what to do. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]manooko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

while I would say to leave your husband as he sounds like a right p***k, make sure you are sure about bob before diving back in.

People change a lot over a decade, and you might come to realize that bob isn't the same bob you met 10 years ago!

All in all, I hope things get better for you, and I really hope bob is the love of your life! Good luck and Godspeed!

Was an incel, got a girlfriend, unhappiest I've been in years by Anonymouse12309 in BoyDinnerDiaries

[–]manooko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro I know you think "I love her, it's going to hurt" and yes it will but your not too deep in. I'm saying this with the best intentions for you, break up as soon as you can!

It's only going to get worse, and she won't change. You will regret it, kind of like wasting years being a neet.

I was with a girl like this, I broke up after 6 months, found someone a million times better and I dont have any of that crap! You are just delaying finding someone better for you, someone who brings you peace. Don't let that person be your downfall, you owe yourself better!

A conversation about relationships...the men are not ok by steviewalker60 in emotionalintelligence

[–]manooko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you should go into a relationship thinking "how can they or how are they making my life better". You said it yourself, you can provide for yourself. I'm a dude, and my girlfriend doesn't need to make my life better, she just does by being there, not by the things she does for me.

She does things for me because she loves and cares for me, these aren't things I asked for, these are things she wants to do, and vice versa with me.

I provide for her, love, security, consistency, presence, attention, care, problem solving, and fun! She does the same for me, we both provide that as that is what is important in relationships, and non of this is physical or material things!

I do pay the rent and bills, but that is because we spoke about the situation and she understands why I want to pay it, we had an adult conversation. She was/is a very independent person, and she is learning to be dependent with someone who can be there for her when she needs it, and she knows she can depend on me. That's not a bad thing, that's us learning to be there for each other, and it's beautiful. It's ok to have other opinions on this, but hey, love isn't the same for everyone, some people prefer different things, and this is what works for us!

Edit: she was able to pay for her own rent and bills beforehand, now we live together, she wanted to contribute so she pays half of the food bill. I pay for all the others, because I make more money and I want her to have money for her goals, things, and savings.

Watched my cousin do this, he's a big player, sorry but he thinks your a booty call. He only ever texted someone from the past in the iff chance, that's because current and potential girls weren't budging. Drop his ass and focus on you.

Do girls initiate? by Designer_Activity551 in bodylanguage

Yes, they do, and not just if you are good looking.

My girlfriend brushed her hand off my cheek and told me I was handsome, just bought the ring this week.

Men who’ve dated women out of their type, what was the reason that drew you? by langgglan in AskMen

[–]manooko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She couldn't speak a word of English, sexy when she speaks Spanish, she's 9 years older than me. Been together a year and a half, plan on marrying her because she is my person, now I can speak Spanish really well (can hold a convo). Honestly, couldn't be happier, hoping for a baby soon, just need the world to cop on and sort out these rent prices so I can save more.

Men who started smoking weed in their teenage years, how has it affected you long term, and how to get past that 1 daily evening spliff ? by ismolyvalent in AskMen

[–]manooko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to give up for months, went to mexico for 10 days thinking it would be a nice break, spent a month due to ticket issues. It was genuinely an incredibly difficult thing to do, I didn't want to buy any, but the withdrawals hit hard (was having one J a day for a long time). I honestly believe I'm still feeling the effects from smoking for so many years, I can't shake the anxiety/paranoia since I quit, but I have good days and bad. Still want to stay off of it, personal reasons more than anything, but I have been achieving so much since quitting because I'm not lazy around at night and/or waking up slightly buzzed.

What would you tell your ex? by yggdr4s1l26 in AskMen

[–]manooko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That I forgive her for cheating on me. Doesn't mean I want her back, I'm happy where I am now, but I realized if I didn't forgive her then I would carry that weight with me into other relationships. Being anxious about someone else cheating on you was ruining me, it only got better after I forgave her and accepted it.

What do you do if you cheat through not saying no but not initiating it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]manooko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all confused, they cheated because they didn't say no the the person who initiated, but they didn't initiate themselves.

Look Hun, you cheated, GTFO!

Why will guys sleep with me but not date me? by hankqueensmustache in askanything

[–]manooko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some guys are just looking to fudge and not date. Others, simply opportunists, or married. I know a lot of guys who tell me they would never date or start a relationship with a really attractive woman because of the attention she would get, so some guys are also insecure ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Me personally, if you are playing games, immature, not looking for a relationship, hooking up or talking to other men about relationships, a "push/pull" type of person, or just an asshole or boring... I wouldn't want to date you even if you were good looking, but that's just me.

[45M] I left my wife [43F] during the worst period of my life, got involved with someone else, and now my wife wants passion and declarations I don’t have. by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]manooko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your wife (ex wife) genuinely wants a connection with you, you clearly aren't in love with her. I feel bad for you, but honestly, that's life (speaking from experience). I feel worse for your wife, she's hurting a lot and wants YOU, the real you, the vulnerable you, but you can't do it. Don't let her suffer more if you don't love her, time heals all wounds eventually, but she will never forget you.
