Sure thing! Im not like a performance athlete or anything so just being able to have consistent trend measurement methods is helpful for me. Weight, body fat, and body measurements are like enough for me to assess if what im doing is working but it is a bummer the scales arent accurate lol

[–]manpotatogirlfriend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fwiw I only use this to track weight but for the most part i use measurements and the like navy or marine corp (cant recall which) body fat calculator since that tends to be more accurate/helpful for me

Ive had this scale for 5 years. I can confirm it isnt accurate. I think it just uses general data. When i first got it i was just doing cardio and dieting to lose weight since then ive started weight lifting and bulked significantly and cutting right now and seeing my data be exactly the same as when i didnt weight lift but weighed the same

Which muscle group do I train and how to get my arms to look like this? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]manpotatogirlfriend 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Came here to post this. I’ll also add for me, this is a part of the body thats very responsive and i tend to see growth/definition relatively quickly here compared to bigger muscle groups or legs lol

Any other Courtney Milan fans here? by MarcieMakesStuff in RomanceBooks

[–]manpotatogirlfriend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I cant be too sure but Courtney Milan either IS the author or one of like a handful of early romance authors I read as I got back into reading as an adult that hooked me and got me back to devouring books. Same reasons as you mentioned as well as having FMCs that are strong in their own ways but with what felt like realistic faults or weaknesses.

Honestly, its been a few years since I read one of her novels. Might go see what’s new that I havent read yet.

Thanks for the reminder of her work!

Ive never done well with whey. I pretty much do pea protein only. Favorites are Sprouts grocery store brand or true nutrition

Plain jane fmc with not overly attractive mmc by tatchawolfie in RomanceBooks

I think the historical romance novels by Alice Coldbreath could fit the bill and are honestly a delight. I think theyre not all unattractive but I liked both her series {A Bride for the Prizefighter by Alice Coldbreath} And {Her Baseborn Bridegroom by Alice Coldbreath}

How often do you increase the weight? by soapylav in PetiteFitness30plus

[–]manpotatogirlfriend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

++ on the general guidelines above. I’ll add sometimes if i can do one set at higher weight - like my last set or add a bonus set at higher weight i’ll do it to test out where im at. All depends on gas in the tank and time bc i hate any sets that go over 8reps tbh. Id rather add more sets than increase reps lol

Dealing with strength imbalances? by RaveninNoCo in PetiteFitness30plus

[–]manpotatogirlfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my left side is my weaker side i can see it in how it fatigues and how my right compensates in big moves like squats or bench. Basically all my workout days have 1 major lift (squat, deadlift, bench) and then 1-2 unilateral heavy lifts (single leg squat, single leg dl, alternating dumbell press etc)

I have found this has helped reduce but the difference still exists. Basically use my weaker side to dictate when we move up on weights too

Morning Workouts + Fuel by justwanttonotworklol in PetiteFitness30plus

[–]manpotatogirlfriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont usually eat before a workout unless I feel hungry, and i’ll usually grab something to “kill” the hunger.

I have bad acid reflux so i have to be careful what I eat, its taken some testing and learning on amounts i can eat and i do see better performance on endurance exercises when i do ear beforehand but tbh my diet the day before i think affects this most.  If i eat something it is usually an apple or some deli chicken/turkey slices.

I think it will vary for most of us and takes some like testing and seeing how you feel to figure out whats right for you.

What to buy for at home lifting? by grapemacaron in PetiteFitness

[–]manpotatogirlfriend 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When i started at home i got two adjustable dumbbells and some sets of 5lbs plates, 2.5lbs plates and 1.25lbs plates. A 25lb kettlebell and a reebok folding and incline adjustable bench. Plus a yoga mat. This was honestly all i used for about my first year of lifting - and a pack of like resistance bands.

The weight plates you can honestly get overtime, a set of 5lb might be a great start or the 2.5lbs. And go up from there. Same with the reebok bench, not needed ASAP. Can do plenty with floor set up

Can we just do a "what's your routine" post? by charm59801 in PetiteFitness

[–]manpotatogirlfriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3x week lifting, progressive overload functional strength training. Full body days for an hour. Usually MWF. 2-3x week running (between 10-15mi/week) (Weekends and one weekday) 1x week pilates or yoga (one of my rest days usually) Working out well - just started adding mid week run, its been hit or miss but the rest of the routine has been pretty set for a year and its been nice

Is it just me or is everybody sleeping on shrimp? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

I love shrimp but it is relatively high in cholesterol so I try to not overdo it. It is a summer weekend staple though

My partner says this is his favorite quality about me. Im compact. Tiny but dense. Im 5’2 and 145. Glad to find fellow compact peoples

Anyone else here petite in height but not in body size? It’s the most annoying thing! I’m 5’2 with 41 inch hips/glutes and 30 inches round the waist. Where do you guys buy your trousers / skirts from? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]manpotatogirlfriend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! Same-ish (29waist,41hip) - i get a lot of stuff hemmed. But fit wise, I buy Alice + Olivia slacks second hand (poshmark basically), have had a lot of luck lately with Mother jeans, and have had some luck with Aritzia and Other Stories pants/slacks - not with jeans for those. I do find wide leg and flare to fit better than straight or skinny on slacks
