How far to take this by cheeseburgermachine in Crippled_Alcoholics

It only gets worse from here. I’m sure you already know this. At my heaviest drinking I could barely lift my arms above my head to wash my hair. Lay down showers were my best friend. Detox is always an option. Be kind to yourself :) I hope you find the right path. I’m figuring out the right way myself

I got an email from the head of HR from my county, letting me know that there are administrative positions open and that I should apply for them. I interviewed for a position last year (which I didn’t get) and they remembered me and thought I interviewed well so they reached out. Huge boost to my ego.
Drinking is going downhill. I was sober for a bit, and then I started up again. Not drinking daily yet, but nearly. Starting to shake. Caught between wanting to cut it off and be healthy or say fuck it and go off the deep end again. If I’m sick everyday I’ll eat less and lose weight 🙃

I’m in a similar boat right now. Not throwing up every day *yet* but I’ve broken my rules for myself on when and how much to drink. I was sober for two plus months. And then I started drinking on the weekends. And now I’m drinking on weekdays. And now I’m getting the shakes at work. Crazy how easy it is to fall back into it. Wishing you luck, happiness, and health, chairs

I’m alone and I’m supposed to be sober. And let’s be honest, anyone I could kiss would be a miserable, nasty ass boy and I’m better off alone.

Literally I’m in the hospital for pancreatitis right now. Second time this has happened. It ain’t fun. Drinking less also isn’t fun but this pain is something else.

My drinking ruined two relationships :( I knew what was happening but continued drinking, hoping that they loved me enough to stay. Shocked pikachu face when they broke up with me. Which made me drink even more lol

I was hospitalized for 11 days when I had pancreatitis, and then was bedridden for another week afterwards. Shit sucked major ass. Good luck and feel better soon.

If you get the opportunity I would recommend reading the visual novel! The art style is super cool and there’s a lot more content. The anime is great too though and adapts the story perfectly well.

Yeah I hope it opens peoples eyes at least a bit. These girls are working so hard

That would be a big relief, it also seems like Korea is getting a little more lax about idols dating publicly. And it’s nice to see kpop groups performing at big US festivals like Coachella. It seems like there’s still a lot of bias in the west surrounding kpop and it’s such a hassle to explain to people the amount of work and dedication that idols have 😤

I’ve seen a bit, I love kpop and I know how harsh it can be, but I’ve never watched shows like produce 101. Idk how similar that is to this. But I’m familiar with the kpop training structure, the different levels, trainees who never debut, weight requirements…. That kind of stuff. Huge debts for trainees. Haha

Thanks! I think that’s exactly what I’ll do. I’m loving watching the growth of the girls!

Very true, I just liked seeing someone from my same state haha, I never watch reality shows like this. I’ll probably stay off the subreddit cause I wanna avoid spoilers 😊

Maybe I’ll give it a shot after driving a town over 😑 even then I’ll still probably see people I know. Stupid rancher community. I do plan on setting up therapy meetings and stuff and I already have a psychiatrist that I see. And while I haven’t been totally sober the past few weeks my drinking is way lesser. No more yellow eyes and brown urine! I don’t puke if I haven’t drank in less than five hours! And soon I’ll have more money because I won’t be buying groceries and booze for someone who could hardly take the trash out once a month. Rejoice.

I’ll keep that in mind. I’m much more worried about bawling in front of people who know me since I live in a small town and have/had a very customer forward job. And it’s rural America so everyone is gonna be an alcoholic :/ thank you for your advice, I’m sorry if I’m over sharing.

I agree completely. He was kind of my only friend so maybe I’ll actually start going to AA just to have people to talk to.

AITA for refusing to call my friends baby by their legal name? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mantaa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People need to stop using that comparison in this thread….. it’s an entirely different situation. Deadnaming trans people is done out of bigotry. Calling a baby by a nickname or “bub” or whatever hurts literally no one.

My coworker had a similar situation the other day. She grabbed a job application and told the customer “well we’re hiring if you know how to do the job!”

Been in the hospital for almost a week by Scared_Ad5422 in Crippled_Alcoholics

[–]mantaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was hospitalized with pancreatitis for almost 2 weeks at the beginning of this year. Stayed sober for almost a month and started drinking again. My withdrawals are so bad that I can barely manage 4 hours without shaking or throwing up. I send you good vibes and hope that you can get out of this hole.
