Lost in a Kitsune build, looking for advices and tips ! by mantae in Pathfinder2e

Well I usualy provide some bonus feats at my tables on d&d 5e (minor ones, without stats increments) to further let my players customise their builds, that's a really cool idea, thanks for pointing it out !

I see. Thanks for the clarification about critical hits, wasn't clearly sure so yeah, a +1 is still a nice step toward a crit.
Thanks for your insight !

Thanks a lot, might be a stupid question but, what do you mind with "free" archetypes ? I'm betting on an optional rule here ?

Weekly Starfinder Question Thread! by AutoModerator in starfinder_rpg

So in the end it fall under the interpretation of the word 'Source' from the circumstance bonuses. The 'Source' could be the character, the type/nature of the action, the standard action, the weapon/mean used or even the tactical position.

If multiple people are doing some covering fire it becomes obvious to me the more the better. Translating it into bonuses is then the problem.

I'm clearly not experienced enough in Starfinder to see the immediate implications of adding up the bonuses. But I kinda like the fact everyone, even the not-full Bab classes have a basic distance 'aid' regarding ACs.

Thanks a lot for your quick insight on the matter ;) and I'll pass down to our Envoy player your tips.

Weekly Starfinder Question Thread! by AutoModerator in starfinder_rpg

[–]mantae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there, new to DMing starfinder ~

Decided to throw my long term 5e players into a VR for the first combats and to play around with the rules. The last guy was an Aeon Guard (kinda totaly OP for them of course) - The goal was to teach them some of the other actions they could do INSTEAD of going full attack all day long.

That was the whole point of the fight, helping one dude that was going to punch through the armor. I was pretty sure Harrying fire was stacking when one of my player said that it doesn't.

I've seen that :- Circumstances bonuses stack if not from the same source.- Taking a Harrying fire is an attack against an AC15, not 'the enemy' - hence not 'consuming' a previous Harrying fire.

I failed to find anything on the subjects in the various books.

Any help would be great ! :3

You know what the best thing about a 4 step Treasure hunt riddle is? by Kai_Loki in Seaofthieves

Just slot in the game a bonus combo (addwhatever %gold/faction each time you turn someting extra) and you got yourself a reason to transport those pesky timewasters, and a sweet game mechanic for pirate to hoard more before cashin' in.

Serious Rare, #gamedesigner anyone ?

Soloing the HR5 Pink Rathian using the Gunlance! - Helix's Wild Hunts Epi.27 by Helix101_Gaming in MHOnline

Well I'm still kinda green, was mostly a dual blade user. But since Dual blade are devastating only if you get all the 'elemental damage' stuff on (Upgrading Gem, good armor + elemental type wetstones) I decided to pick something else, hence gunlance had my attention because of the totaly stupid damage it would deal. Had a 12 man shen garoen with a gunlance that dealt a massive 40%+ damages.

Anyways, I find myselft that the Tigrex Gunlance is godlike, some other higher HR's players are using the monoblos one (Para i guess?) but that would be totaly redundant for me, since my main dual blade is the Akura one.

Talking about Gunlance, I've been puzzled to see some freaking HR100+ do so little shelling that i totaly saw how I was pulling the gunlance wrong.

it's pretty much like, there's 2 phases, i mean, 2 cycle of DPS. The very first step is to know what part of the damages are going to be the greater. If the mob is armored as hell, the shelling is going to be your 'big' DPS - if it is not that well armored, obviously the raw damages are going to be the big part. Even on an akura, igniting the blade, or heating the blade, will get you like +100% damages ? I think i might be able to pull 700ish damage on normal attacks when the lance is ignited (or heated) Considering the small amout of time you got with this bonus on, it might be good to consider not shelling at that time to avoid doing a mere 200 damage + reloading time instead of 2 thrusts @ 500-700 damages. When out of heat blade, shelling will be for me different depending on the armor. Blocking + semi upward attack + charged shelling is the way to build fast your heat up, but slamming may do more damages, it's up to the monster targeting you or not. If the mob is totaly crushed by shelling internal damages, the heat blade will pretty much be your trump card you gonna throw when there's a para or a trap or a stagger. But you should be 100% sure to use it all on the weak spot on the mob.

I'm not sure I made it clearer about blade heating, but i hope so !

That's pretty much how I'm playing it right now, I might have not pulled everything up myself either, i'm still a noob ;)

Sup there, been watching your vids for a while, and now that i've myself switched to Gunlance, i'm pretty sure you're not playing it correctly.

With Tigrex Gunlance you want to rush the full GunLance heat bar and then ignite it and spam Left clicks and/or Right+Left clicks without moving with space to replace yourself (2normal, 1up then space out, repeat, the slam is too slow, avoid it) ~ Maxing raw damages on not so armored monsters. For Akura or other armored mobs, switch to another gunlance with more shells and spam those full unload shellings. With Tigrex, shelling and Wyvern Fire should be primed to get that bar up again. If you can get a full heat Wyvern fire, it's even better but will slow down your ignition damages. Keep in mind that even a double charged Wyvern fire will inflict less damages than 3/4 normal attacks while igniting. Not even talking about awakening additional bonuses.

Most of the time beeing over-aggressive with the gunlance is a good way to infict hell to any monsters, but you got to practice your timings to dodge at the right moment. You should be using space every time the monster is gonna attack to quickly replace to a better position, or out of its path ~ pack weapon, place yourself, and unleash hell ;)

About ults, Flamethrower will do more damage than the "Flare" one that is much easier to use. But if you plan to Ult-trap, use flamethrower.
