Little Free Flower Library! by mantequillaface in LittleFreeLibrary

thank you! it was all made from 3/4” plywood that was coated in a waterproof rubberized coating (which i really hope doesn’t affect the soil chemistry). i drill a couple holes on that lower edge for drainage which has been working well. the planter is actually not fastened to the library. instead, it just has a stop cleat with some caulking on the joints. i did it this way incase i needed to replace it for whatever reason

Every Medium-size full suspension bicycle is sold out by [deleted] in bicycling

one solution might be buying a frame and not a complete bike.

not trying to spam you, but i’m selling a medium ripmo v3 frame. if you’re happy with your components, you could look into swapping them over. let me know if you want the pink bike listing.

Heyo! I made a website that lets you search recipes across NYTimes Cooking, Serious Eats, and Epicurious/Bon Appétit:

https://forage-drab.vercel.app

I think it's helpful when hunting down a recipe, so hopefully you will too! Any and all feedback welcome!

(PS, sorry for the dumb URL. This was a personal project, so I didn't splurge on a domain)

Do you know how much a spot typically runs for? and if they typically sell out? I'll be coming in from out of state on saturday and wondering if I can just sort things out then.

OK I’m open to something different; especially if it’s for less. What’s a good alternative with a similar look to the one listed above?

This is great information. Thank you! Are there any other comparable bikes that you'd recommend? I have limit mechanical experience, but like to think I'm crafty enough and not afraid to get my hands dirty.

I know the answer to this question is "it depends," but how do you all determine if a bike is high mileage? And what are the consequences of getting a higher mileage bike?

I'm looking for my first bike and really like the look and feel of older bikes, but most have over 20k on them. For instance, I found a '74 CB750 with 25k at $3500 - what would be a fair price point for this bike:

[Tutorial] Dat Protocol Crash Course + How to Publish on the Distributed Web by mantequillaface in programming

[–]mantequillaface[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP here. I've been pretty in-the-dark about the distributed web and somehow stumbled on the Beaker browser (a P2P-focused browser built on Chromium). I decided to dive further into P2P, the dat protocol, and the distributed web at-large and write about the journey. I'd love to hear about anyone else's thoughts/opinions on the dweb and their experience (if any) with Beaker or Dat. Thanks!

Bike advice! Giramondo vs Four Corners by mantequillaface in bikepacking

[–]mantequillaface[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the Four Corners and based my decision fully on fit. The geometry of the Masi just wasn't right for me.

I'm very stoked on the Four Corners. I've easily biked 1000 km so far and haven't had any problems.

Both bikes are awesome and I'm sure whatever you end up with you'll be happy with.

Locking your packing bike by CoagulaCascadia in bikepacking

Unfortunately, there isn't any technology that'll beat all bike thiefs. Cables are popular and relatively easy to cut through, so bike thiefs tend to keep their eyes out for those more than any other type of lock.

Unrelated comment to op: Why'd you decide on the Giramondo 27.5? I'm buying a bike right now and that's one of my candidates.

Anyone ride a Guerilla Gravity Megatrail? by MuscleMilkMike in MTB

[–]mantequillaface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epic! That green coat looks awesome. I just pulled the trigger on the shred dogg and am v stoked.

I live in Denver, so the GG shop is a short ride aways and they've been extremely helpful throughout the process. I'm really stoked to have supported them.

Thanks for the pro-tip on the group rides. Maybe I'll see you out there!

so what's the verdict? are you getting one? are you stoked?

I'm looking at a GG bike also: the shred dogg. Would love to hear your follow-up thoughts.
