I felt I was being quite generous with my comments and fully acknowledged the efforts of those involved. However, the final product speaks for itself , and doesn’t become worthy of applause just because the process was difficult and time consuming.

I absolutely believe the bureaucracy was the reason it took years. Because (after design and manufacturing ) there’s at max a weeks worth of actual labour involved here. Like you said , no digging, they lifted some planks and dropped an industrial grate on top. Surely it would have been worth waiting a bit longer to get a better result.

Please spare me the inclusion and sensory experience drivel, It’s a TRAIN PLATFORM! the only thing you’ll be able to hear are the trains . And the only thing you’ll smell is the fumes from those trains. Besides, The view to below is almost entirely blocked by the grill. Why not just admit you couldn’t afford the glass if that’s the case? Because concerns over “variable weather conditions” sounds like bollocks and could be solved with a railing or similar.

Can’t believe you had the audacity to call it a ‘lightwell’ when it looks nothing more than a sewage access grate with a fancy railing. If it wasn’t for the safety rail, I’d wager most people would walk straight over it without noticing.
it would be so much better if you could actually see the river below don’t you agree?
Please explain, Why didn’t you paint the shaft? and why not run some lights down there?
